Planning on trying to video Illuminations this trip and was watching it on YouTube to get an idea of where/how to shoot. I've got a Canon 6D.

Normally at DW I'll use the 16-35 F2.8 (or the 10-22 when I was shooting using the T4i) and that was my first thought for illuminations but after looking at the videos I see there's some good chunks of the show that just involves the globe and nearby barges and I'm thinking maybe my 24-70 F2.8 would be a better fit so I could zoom in during those portions. But I'm also afraid that 24mm might not be "wide enough" to get all the surrounding pavilions that light up during the show. (And one of the videos I saw used a fisheye so maybe even 16mm isn't wide enough?)

Anyone have any opinions on the matter?

Also, what's the best area to view from?
