I love the video and the enthusiasm. For those that have owned at DVC for a while, it's great to be reminded of the joy that purchasing at DVC brings us. Each time we go to Disney I now feel the joy of returning home.

Friends of ours cannot understand just what is so special about DVC. They own a timeshare as well. As do we, we bough two other time shares before we bought into DVC (and I am already scheming to purchase more points). One of the time shares is just 1 mile from DTD. Owning on site is remarkably different than owning a time share else where.


Comparison:

Owning on site:

• When you own onsite, there is not the long ride each night when exiting the park.
• When you wake up, you are already in the happiest place on earth.
• You benefit from immediate access to the Disney Transportation system
• Everything that Disney does, they give you a 100%. So you know when you are there, you are their number one concern.
• Disney's upkeep of the property is unparalleled.
• No driving if you go to Pleasure Island and have too many. No worries, the buses will get you back to your room.
• DDP use to be a factor for many. With the current changes, I am not sure this is as big a plus.
• Ability to rent points through disboards and other sites simplifies when you cannot go.

Owning offsite:

• Everyday you need to drive in
• There is the daily parking fee
• Once you park, you can hop park to park, but must return back to where you parked, or you need to waste time driving yourself between parks.
• Longer days due to traveling to and from the park.
• Additional cost of a rental car.
• Renting other timeshares is not so easy. For the most part you are regulated to ebay or something like redweek. But even then you are not always successful.

Those are some of the reasons for us.

For a New Englander, the one thing that is needed onsite is a Dunkin Donut's (Minus Rachael Ray) for ice coffee in the morning.
