Ok HOW does one deal withtaping in DL. We were offered a small disc recorder and think the idea is great. BUT where do you put it while you are on the rides? OR how do you tape on the rides and still HOLD ON!
I think it would be great if we COULD use it.
Now keep in mind this is a BORROWED item...from my dad.

Also just wondering about the GRAPEVINE? and I-5 road conditions and weather in general.......

We will be there next week!!!!!!!!!!!!!:woohoo:  :cheer2:

Im not excited in the least:sad2: (YEAH RIGHT:cool1: )

I envy you right now, we still have a long time until our next trip.

Just put your video camera in your backpack. It will be fine. The rides at the park always have enough room to safely stow a backpack in the ride with you. You might want to bring a large ziploc for extra precaution for splash mountain, just in case. But, we never have. We found just putting it in our backpack, or in the camera case if it comes with one is good enough.

There are lockers at Grizzly River Run in California Adventures. If I remember correctly, you are not allowed to carry anything onto that ride. For good reason!!! You will get soaked.

Sorry, no advice on your other questions.

Have fun!!!

Our last trip I took a video tape recorder. Only carried it to the parks 1/2 the time because while small it is still extra weight. I taped the following (keep in mind I have a 6 year old)

1. Princess Fantsy faire show, with shots of the kid learing to be a princess,

2. the block party bash,

3. High school musical pep rally

4. on some rides, mostly while child described the action, this worked on Astro oberiter, golden zepher, jumpin jellyfish, and some other kid rides.

5. Also, got a great tape of the kid playing with Push the talking trash can.

She loves to watch it and show it to her friends.

Sadly splash will be closed:guilty: BUT thats ok.... I don't care because I'll still be in DL:banana:

I know I am way more excited than the kids! But they have NO clue what it's like so this is going to be TOO much fun!!!

Good to know about putting things on the ride with us. I didn't realise that.

We always take the video camera and the regular camera with us. We tape kids with characters, bits and peices of parades, etc. We dont typically try to record on rides. Usually at least one day dh says he doesnt want to pack the video camera around, and its always the one time something really special happens and he wishes he would have brought it!

Unless it's snowing, there should be no problem on the Grapevine. I-5 itself can be crowded during peak traffic times.

After this weekend I-5 over the grapevine should be fine- they're saying a possibility of light snow late tonight or early Sunday due to a cold storm coming in, but it shouldn't be big or last long.

1-800-GAS ROAD is the phone # for Cal Trans. We keep it in our cell phones for all our road trips
