Video of Pluto chasing a kid

is pluto in the wrong for chasing a kid at full speed in a busy area if the kid did something wrong? pretty much.

is pluto in the wrong for chasing a kid at full speed in a busy area if he was just playing with the kid? pretty much.

Maybe the kid was a brat and kicked him, pulled his tail, etc. but the fact is that the person in that costume was an adult and the child was just that- A CHILD! He could have handled the situation differently without chasing the kid around a crowded area....seems like a moron to me, hope he got fired :sad2:

The only thing I know FOR SURE is that Pluto NEVER should have been running like that with people all around. NEVER. Certainly not in anger, or to scare a child, but not even in fun. Maybe it's because I am a shorter person and have a toddler, but I know all too well what can happen when someone's vision is obstructed and he flies around full-speed in a crowded area. There is no way anyone could convince me he could see the ground and everyone around him clearly. Heck, I wouldn't let my child run around like that in an UNcrowded park or area, and he only weighs 35 lbs. PLUTO COULD HAVE SERIOUSLY HURT SOMEONE, and thank god he didn't! Disney would have been sued for sure, and rightly so. If the child ran first, he shouldn't have chased him. If the child did something to him, he should have handled it like a grown-up and sought some CM assistance without giving chase. If he thought it was funny, then he's probably not the guy you want in a huge, unwieldy character costume, dealing with the public in a busy theme park.:rotfl:

I think Pluto acted very unprofessionally throughout the entire thing. I don't think the woman who "shoved" him was in the right, either, but she may have felt (as many on this thread do) that her grandson (or even just a little boy she didn't know) was being attacked. Pluto's behavior from beginning to end was bizarre and, to my mind, unacceptable. But she definitely shouldn't have pushed him. (I do think he fell over due to the curb/visibility issue and not just the shove, though.)

Just my two cents. I agree with a PP that Disney and its CMs are not always right. I also think BradK's assessment is a reasonable one...this incident got way out of hand due to some poor judgment on the part of Pluto and a less-than-optimal response from the mystery woman.:sad2:

Here's my take:

-they start from the road before entering the square
-at the beginning it looks like it is just fun for Pluto, but after circling the flower garden, the kid screams and takes off and Pluto speeds up to catch him.
-the mom comes from the road where Pluto was presumably standing for pictures and grabs Pluto to stop him. I determined that this is the mom because I turned the volume WAY up and she say "don't touch my son"
-she already had the camera in her hand when she was running to stop Pluto.

There's more, but I think think that clears up some of what people are saying.

I personaly think it was funny.. i mean if the kid did something to make Pluto mad he got what he deserved :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: this video has a lesson::: DONT PISS OFF PLUTO:rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

First, I think the kid did something to Pluto.

Pluto, should be used to being stuck, poked and grabed. Not right but a fact.

Pluto acted unprofessionaly.

The kid ran in fear.

If it had been my son, I'd have first stopped Pluto and pushed him harder than she did. (hey, it's my son) I then would have taken my son to the bathroom and whipped his *@#.

both were equaly wrong, but while the kid is a professional kid and untrained, Pluto should have known better.

I LOVED the Benny Hill version. That has been my cel phone ring tone for about a year! :rotfl:

Regardless of right or wrong, I'm rather impressed at Pluto's ability to run in that costume! Costumes like that aren't easy to move around in, especially in the heat.
Anyway... if Pluto ran at me, I'd cry... he's kinda big and scary when he's mad :o
