video iPod question...

I am completely iPod ignorant. But I'm investigating and trying to decide if I want to buy DS one for Christmas.
So I stumble upon one a used one. Dude says he's buying an 80 gig and getting rid of this 30 gig one. It has tons of songs and movies that he's loaded on it. Which would sweeten the deal--some of the movies he has on there are keepers.
But my question is...how easy is it to remove the one's I wouldn't want DS to have on there? If it's going to take too much brain power, I'll pass.

it should be easy to remove songs you don't want when you're using itunes. However, if he bought songs, movies, tv shows from itunes, ther emay be problems if you start loading new stuff on the ipod. It may want his name and password. I'm not sure exactly how that all works.

How come it seems everytime a question is answered about iPods I walk away STILL confused???

There has GOT to be an IPOD FOR DUMMIES book out there!!! I need help with my son's video ipod before Christmas, too!!!
