Does anyone know if you can take small video cam's on the rides as long as they are attached securely to your hand? I'd love to take one on the Incredible Hulk in the front row......

I don't think that video cameras or cameras are allowed on the Hulk or any Islands roller coaster, attached securely to your hand or otherwise. The roller coaster operators will tell you to put your camera away.

On most of the coasters... including MUMMY, but especially the HULK...the ride attendants will direct you to the lockers to stow your gear. Despite the opportunity for you to lose a really cool camera on the off chance that you happen to DROP it  bystanders might be injured or the ride could be damaged as well. I think the overall safety considerations outweigh the need to get it all on film... lol!

Some things are just meant to be experienced, not captured on video! ;)

Yeah, that thread will get you to my site.
Many people are asking me the same question in E-mail, can they do it. So it seems that everyone wants to film the coasters, now that the size of cameras is getting smaller.

... and that makes me nervous. I don't worry about people that know what they're doing - i.e. robvia, and a couple others that are fairly well-known for their P.O.V.'s - but how many are that experienced? I mean, if someone can get their skull busted by a flying cell phone, what kinda damage can a video camera do, no matter how small?

I know I've said it before, but keep in mind that just a couple years ago - I'm sure there are those on these boards that know what I'm talking about - someone was killed on a ride trying to take a picture. Don't want that happening again ...

The lockers are free for a certain period of time and then about $1-$2 for each additional 1/2 hour. The time can be as low as 45 minutes to as high as two hours, depending on the ride. The Hulk is usually about 2 hours.

It's a tough question this. The over-ruling answer is no, due to safety issues which is definitely fair enough. But for those who want to capture the experience, or for those who will never get to know what the ride is like due to health restrictions or location etc..then it's a chance for them to see what it's all about from a visual perspective.
