I'm thinking about booking the Chef's Table at Victoria & Alberts for our Honeymoon. What are the rules for making this reservation? I know it was different but I can't remember and a search brought up nothing.

Thank you!

Call V&A direct at 407-824-1089 right at 7 am, exactly 180 days before the date you want to dine. The Chef's Table is very hard to get. Good Luck!

It's really tough to get the Chef's Table. Make sure you call WDW-DINE a few times when they're closed (do this a few days before your 180 day), so you know what the "sorry, we're closed" recording sounds like. Also, call when WDW-DINE is open and write down or memorize the sequence of "press 1 for.." to get you to the V&A's line.

On your 180 day, start dialing around 6:56 Eastern Time. As soon as you hear the "we're closed" recording, hang up and redial. Continue until the "Thank you for calling Disney Dining. We're glad you called.." recording begins. Press the correct sequence of 1's and 2's (you don't have to wait for the entire recording--you can press the 1 or 2 as soon as you hear, "press 1 for...") and keep your fingers crossed. Good luck. :)

If your 180 days has already passed, you don't have much of a chance to get the Chefs Table. There is only one seating per night and when it's gone, it's gone.

And I think it's only offered 5 nights/week, isn't it?

Good luck and let us know!

WOW! I am impressed. You must have done this a time or two! Great advice!

The process is very similar to Cindy's royal table for breakfast. The unofficial guide has a detailed explanation as to how to get that reservation. It's even harder to get The Chef's table.

Some other pointers:

Check the atomic clock at :
http://www.time.gov/timezone.cgi?Eastern/d/-5 (I have it set to eastern time)

Call V&A's a couple of days before to make sure you know the date of the 180 day mark.

When you get on the phone the CM will make sure almost immediately that the table is available. Then, make sure to tell them the occasion.

We went last year, and it was perhaps one of the best meals we ever had.

Thanks everyone. I've been trying every morning but haven't been able to get it YET. We've got 2 more nights left that we could possibly book. I'm still keeping my fingers crossed.

Thank you! I'm SO excited!!!

We did V and A the night after our Disney Wedding and enjoyed every minute even tho it was not Chef's Table...It is a special place.

Tell us your story...how did you meet your Prince? How did he ask? What are the rest of your Wedding plans?

Since you asked... ;)

We randomly met online, not even on a dating site. He saw my profile somewhere and thought I sounded interesting so he sent me a nice message. He was talking about getting to know one another and all that. I thought he was super sweet but a little too young for me since he was only 21 at the time. I figured he was WAY too young for me and wouldn't be anywhere near mature enough. We sent a few messages back and forth and there was just something about him that I couldn't put my finger on but I knew I couldn't pass up on a chance with him. Finally one day I sent him an email with my phone number and told him to call me if he wanted to. He called one Saturday while I was on my way home. Since there was no cell phone service at my house then I had to pull over at a gas station to talk to him. We talked for over 2 hours. He didn't sound like a typical 21 year old. He sounded so much more mature. He was even more mature than older men that I've met.

On the phone call he asked me if we could do the cliche thing and go out to dinner and a movie. I agreed. We met at Ruby Tuesday's for dinner then went to see POTC 2. He was such a gentleman. He held every door for me and even asked if he could walk me to my car. Then on the way to my car he asked if he could hold my hand. :lovestruc Well we got to my car and he asked if he could give me a goodnight kiss. How sweet was that? Anyway he got one. ;) That kiss left me feeling like I was floating! Seriously, it was the best kiss (not that I had ever had that many) I had ever had. Never before did a kiss feel like that.

He called me that night to make sure I got home okay. We both agreed that even though dinner was awkward that we had to see each other again. Both of us are on the shy and quiet side (until we get to know you) so at dinner we were both trying to think of what to say. I was so nervous that I was looking all around the restaurant at the decorations. I'm terrible with eye contact!

We kept going out after that and then we just couldn't spend a day apart. Last fall we discussed getting married even though he had not proposed. He said we could start planning the Wedding but I would have to wait on my engagement ring. He had a very special ring design in mind for me and couldn't and wouldn't settle for anything less. One morning I woke up and told him about a dream I had of him giving me a ring with a blue stone and a moon coming down from a wave. Little did I know that he took that and ran with it. He planned from that moment on to create that for my engagement ring. We have been to the gem mines a few times to look for gems and one trip he took the best from the trip and put them in his pocket. I knew he was up to something. He had the sapphire cut then had a local jeweler make the ring for the stone. Here is a picture:

He kept the plan a secret from me but I knew he was working on a special design. My Baby is so talented and thoughtful!!! He planned another day back up to the gem mine one Saturday. I had a feeling it was going to happen that day so I was pretty nervous. He asked me if they still sold hot chocolate there because his hands were so cold. The weather was nice but the water was pretty cold. So I went to get the hot chocolate and when I came back he said "here, look what I found" as he turned towards me with the ring. He told me that I make all of his dreams come true. And honestly I can't remember what he said next because everything inside my body was shaking. Of course I said yes! Our Wedding is November 15th then our Disneymoon is December 6 - 14.

Honestly I didn't think guys like that him existed. He treats me better than I ever though I would be or even could be treated. We respect one another. He thinks I'm beautiful. Yes, he does have bad vision. Poor thing doesn't know what a beautiful body looks like. But I love him anyway! I can completely be myself with him. I can be random, stupid, forgetful, whatever and he still loves me and doesn't ask me to change. That is awesome! My whole life until now I've had to be what everyone else wanted me to be. I never had the chance to really be myself. This is fun being who I really am. I'm a little crazy but it's all good.

Sorry to go on so long, but I couldn't stop once I got started.

We are doing our best to do a Wedding on a budget and put more of our savings towards our Honeymoon. So far we've done pretty good. I got my dress, more of an evening gown but still great, for $32 but had to pay $20 to get it cleaned since it got dirty at the store. At the end of the fall flower season we bought about $500 worth of fake flowers from AC Moore for about $100. We are looking for deals everywhere we go. We do not want to go into debt for the Wedding even though we want it to be special. Oh, it paid for us to pick out our cake early. I am allergic to eggs and Larry said there was no way he would feed me a piece of cake on our Wedding Day that had egg in it. He said he couldn't start our marriage like that with him feeding me with something I am allergic to. See what a sweetie he is? Anyway, we found a baker who could do us an egg-free cake and she had a contest at the end of last year. We, thankfully, were the winners. So she paid off 60% of our cake. After our deposit and my mother deciding that we needed an extra 1/2 sheet cake to the side we only have to pay $22. I am so thankful for every deal we have gotten. It has been such an amazing blessing to get so many deals.

Sounds like everything is as it should be!

In lieu of conventional gifts, we asked for things on the Disney Honeymoon Gift Card....that worked great and I didn't have to move as much. Plus we were both well established, so didn't need the "start up" gifts.

Ya'll might want to look into it!

Chell,

Thanks for sharing your story. I sincerely hope that you get the chef's table for one of your two nights, but if you don't have you considered eating in the main dining room? Its lovely and I think you want really enjoy it.

Keep trying for that Chef's table. Just an FYI that Disney won't tell you...but a lot of times people that are staying concierge request the chef's table and are "penciled in" before the 180 day mark...so then if you call right at 7am and they tell you its already booked, that is how it happens. I hope you get it, its a great experience! ::yes::

Thank you! We are also asking for any gifts to be put towards the Honeymoon. We have already registered on the website too. Like you, we now have a household and don't need the traditional Wedding gifts.

Thank you! We have thought about dining in the main dining room but we haven't decided just yet if we should. We are both very much into cooking so that is part of the draw to the Chef's Table. Any other restaurant there have one? I can't think of one off the top of my head.

You know, we will be at WDW the same time. We should try to meet up!

Thanks for your kind words and the encouragement! I was wondering if that was how they got booked so fast. I kept calling and calling until I got the "open" message and dialed "1" right away for English then "2" for V&A. Do you know how long they stay "penciled in"? Do they come off after so long if they don't reconfirm or something?

The alarm is set for 6:50 again tomorrow morning...

Don't quote me but I think the Wolf Gang Puck Upstairs Dining Room has a Chef's Table. Are you eating at Jiko? You can asked to be seated at "the cooking place" which is a counter that over looks the kitchen. If you're not planning to eat at Jiko you should consider it. We think its the best restaurant on property after V&As.

Where are you staying? We will be there at the same time. Maybe we should get together

Chell, good luck getting the chef's table! I would love to do it, but my DP is not interested in "fancy food"! Hopefully I can at least get him to splurge on a night at Victoria and Albert's... even without the chef's table. Oh well! :)
