victoria and alberts -- some ???'s

hi all my DH has his heart set on victoria in late nov. he wants to sit at the chefs table -- but im sure its already booked by now.

my question is - i have heard that u can get the "chef's table food" in the regular dining room? also if u do that do u get the souvinour (SP) menu? thanks!

Everyone receives a personalized menu at V&A.

We've only done Chef's Table once and the regular dining room and menu quite a few times now but others have reported being able to order the Chef's Table menu in the dining room. Just ask ahead of time.

Personally, I'm quite content with the regular menu.

My Fiance was able to get some Fois Gras even though it wasn't on the menu (extra charge, of course), and has been able to "sample" things just by showing an interest and asking. Can't hurt to ask what's up. The service is so great.

Well, a lot of the chef's table food is off the regular menu. The difference is that for each course, rather than getting one of the items, you tend to get a taste of all 3 or 4 that are offered. There are also some extra courses you may receive. At least, that's how it was the last time we were there. You don't really know until you're there.

I don't have any experience with trying to order the chef's table menu in the main dining room. It's possible the message meant to indicate that you can order dishes that are served at the chef's table in the main dining room - and that's true because the chef's table uses a lot of those dishes.

For anyone who's done the chef's table menu in the main dining room, was it the chef's table price? Or the regular price?
