Do you think its best to go with the dining room or Queen Victoria's room?

(dinner for me and hubby, anniversary)

For a first-time visit I would go with the Main Dining Room. That way you can go up on a subsequent visit.

I'm of the opposite opinion of the previous poster. If you can afford to go to Victoria & Albert's and you can afford to pay for a better option, why not go with the best you can get? It's a special occasion. Who knows when you'll be able to do it again. Don't plan for some future event that may or may not happen. Go with the best you can get.

Life is for the living.

Can you tell me what the main difference between the two is?

i'm not familiar with anything other than the main dining room...
but i can say that the main dining room is absolutely stupendous!!! can't imagine anything nicer!!

Sample menus for both are at http://victoria-alberts.com/ as well as descriptions. Note at CT or QVR you get everything on the menu, MDR is selections with some items at extra cost.

i ate vegetarian - i wish i hadn't lost my menu - it had my name on it..
anyway, the food was absolutely incredible!!!!! and in addition to what i picked from the menu, the chef prepared several additional "surprise" courses..

everything was out of this world!!! worth every penny it cost!!!!

i just looked at the menu - now i remember that for vegetarians there is much less selection - except for dessert, you basically get everything on the menu - plus the surprises...

I got married in Disney not quite a year ago and while there my husband surprised me with the Chef's table! It was amazing! The chef's table and the QV room have the same menu for the most part. I agree with the above poster, if you can go better/best why not do it!? With that said, I don't think you will regret any decision.

I've eaten at both once. Most recent being the QVR. I think it's spoiled me, and I'll be shooting for that from now on. It makes sense to look at both sample menus and think about which would suit you more.

With the MDR you get fewer courses, but have choices to make regarding your dinner. It is also less expensive. With the QVR, you get more courses, but you are not actively choosing what you're being served, and it is more expensive.

When I went to the MDR, I ended up choosing a couple of items with upcharges, once I figured that in, I was basically spending what the QVR would cost, that's partially why I chose it for August.

The other reason why I went that route was that there is a lot of table side preparaton involved in the QVR, which I thought my DS would really enjoy, and since we were there celebrating his 18th birthday, I wanted it to be something extra-special.

Honestly, you can't go wrong with either one.

Thanks alot for the input!
I think we'll go with the QVR. We've eaten at some of the best restaurants all over the world and he's pretty hard to impress.
We love to travel and have done some crazy trips (climbing Mt. Sinai in the middle of the night to see the sunrise and trekking across the Arabian desert on camelback....) but after all that my heart still belongs to Disney!!!! I am trying to get him as pumped about this trip as I am so hopefully V&A's will help.
lol
