Victoria and Alberts Dissed Me

would you happen to know the cheese cupcake recipe from BOG?
my son in law asked them for it last year, but never received it..
he would be your in your debt forever if you pointed us in the right direction :)

Yes, I know this post is old, but, if you are reading----------

There are many, many great cream cheese cupcake recipes online that will equal or surpass the ones at BOG. They aren't that hard to duplicate - might not be as 'fancy', but just as 'tasty'!! :)

My grandmother has a potato salad recipe that is out of this world good. I know....potato salad.....but dang. Problem is, she is now 95 and doesn't make it any longer, it is stored is her head, and no one can seem to duplicate it even though she has tried to show others.

I visited my 92 year old grandmother to get her recipe for the Sunday "gravy" (tomato red sauce for pasta) and for her meatballs. No one in the family had them. As she made it, I carefully wrote it all down, including any special techniques (I am an award winning pastry chef, and know most failures are usually caused by technique). As we were mixing up the ingredients, I learned why no one had the recipes. Her recipes included measurements such as "a small handful", "a big handful", "one black metal spoonful", and "enough to make it look green". Fortunately, I was able to estimate these unusual measurements and can turn out a gravy that makes the family look for her in the kitchen, even though she's been gone for 20+ years.

just an FYI. We dined there in September and had this AMAZINGLY roasted white chocolate ice cream. Texture, taste, everything was perfect. I would eat this everyday. I wanted to make some for thanksgiving so I called for the recipe. They said no! The hostess was very nice and called me back promptly but the pastry chef declined to release his recipe. This is not usual disney, but I'm assuming it's because it is Victoria and Alberts. I found one on Google that I'm going to try, but I found it interesting they did not share.

Probably because they buy it by the metric ton from "Bob's Ye Olde Ice Cream Factory." Wait, am I speaking blasphemy?

Maybe it was a secret recipe. Its like a good magician never tells his secrets either.

My great aunts deliberately say something awry abut the recipe so it won't turn out right for anyone else.....
My paternal grandmother did that; it vexed my mother, lol. We are still trying to guess the missing ingredients.

This is how they make a living. I am sure you would not give anyone your formula to business success.

Funny! I have been making gravy since I was a kid with my mother.

A few weeks ago I invited a friend over to make a pot with me. She had been asking for my recipe (as if I have one)

I tried so hard to measure everything. She wrote it all down. Then caught me adding stuff to the pot while it cooked! Every time I stirred and tasted something else went in!
