Victoria & Alberts Review

Excellent review! I love V&A and you mentioned many of the small things that made it an event versus dinner for us.

One thing I also loved was the crumbing of our table between courses (we generally don't eat at high end restaurants that do this) and also how when I went to the restroom I was escorted back to the table, reseated and offered a fresh napkin.

We love Victoria & Albert's as well and like you, it'll have to be an occasional treat for us.

Glad that you enjoyed the meal. That purse holder is just one of the many small touches that make V&A special.

Just posted my review of Victoria & Albert's in my blog:

http://celebrationfl.blogspot.com/2008/11/accidental-book-contract-meal-fit-for.html

(you can scroll through the part about the book). It was WONDERFUL WONDERFUL WONDERFUL, although I couldn't help but wonder if we were missing a floor show with food-fighting kids right next door at Citricos.

ROFL! I was wondering if you'd mention the most entertaining description of a Citrico's evening I've ever read. :thumbsup2 I read your review, and I have to confess that I'm guilty of taking food porn. But my camera doesn't strobe, and I don't take more than one unless the first photo came out crappy. I haven't reviewed my dinner yet, but I had many of the same items as you, including sweetbreads, but I cannot finish the comment I wanted to make because it's a family board.

I love it when restaurants do the "table crumbing" thing, too. I don't go to many restaurants that do that, either.

When I saw the purse holder, I blurted out that I had my own. :rolleyes1 Although mine has a pink polka-dotted flip flop as the charm that is viewable at the table. I use it all the time.

Sounds like you had a delightful meal at V&A. Although we would never go there, it is nice to read reviews of people who go to different places and their thoughts. Sorry...I am one of those "food porn" picture takers too...but I try to only take a couple per meal. :)

Well, when I woke up this morning I certainly never expected to read the words "bull nads" as I was browsing my DIS. :rotfl2:

Congrats on your contract and a great review.

You know, one dinner at V&A will "pay for" a Tables in Wonderland membership, and then additional meals there during the year will be 20% off....

So who were your servers??? My brother's best friend is one of them there... :)

We love V&As. For a few minutes I was back there eating again as I delighted in your experience and review.:) Brava!

what have i learned from this thread?

that sweetbreads are not "breads" at all?!?!?!? I would have NEVER EVER imagined bull testicles, OR thymus glands to arrive at my table. I dare say I would have behaved in an undignified fashion once I discovered it was not some sort of pastry!! :sad2:

Victoria & Alberts offers a bit more interesting selection of foods to try along with versions of more regular selections (such as filet mignon...)
