Victoria Alberts Reservation Tips? Other Orlando ideas in addition to VA?

Hi,

We're taking the kids to a surprise Universal Studio trip in the fall. It's a week after our wedding anniversary and so my wife and I wanted to go out to a super nice meal down there for our anniversary. Preferably two places while we're there.

We did V&A 10 years ago and it was amazing (truly the best dining experience of our lives). We'd like to go again when we're down there for Universal.

We haven't done Disney for years and are very rusty on the rules/tactics. Can anyone help in terms of planning tips for getting VA reservations? Tips to get preferred times? Is VA the same 60 days out rule as other restaurants? Or should I do something else? Do I try reserving at midnight or can I wait until the next morning? We're going in November off season (subjective I know). Is chef's table possible? Does it matter if we are not staying at Disney? We plan to take an Uber from US to Grand Floridian. Does that work for Disney? Or do I need to have a car rental?

Beyond VA, are there other recommended restaurants for us in addition to VA? We want to try two nice places when we're there. We're open to anything in Orlando (ideally closer to Universal area) and doesn't need to be Disney. For example, saw high review for Chathams? But we're clueless.

Thanks in advance.

Hi! So V & A is 60 days out and you would want to be online for 5:45am for the reservations to open up at 6am. I just scored one on my 60th day and they were going fast. I don't believe the Chef's table is an option right now, so you will need to book either the main dining room or the Queen Victoria Room (in my opinion, we enjoy the main dining room better). Also, when you go to book, don't make the same mistake I did: I scrolled all the way down to "V" and it wasn't listed, they have it under "T" for "The Dining Room at V & A", I wasted alot of time trying to find it and wasting precious 6am minutes!

Also, I just booked Bull and Bear as well for our upcoming trip. Never been, but hear its fantastic for a special occasion!

Good luck!

Every time I have looked for Victoria and Albert's at day 60 it has not been available, although I have not been on right at 6 am because I was just scouting availability and not actually looking to book it yet. Today my ADR window opened for an onsite DVC reservation and it was available as far as 60+7 but every day before that showed no availability for the main dining room for parties of 2 or 4. I have done all 3; chef's table, Queen Victoria room, and The main dining room, but all pre-reopening. They were all great in their own way, but with the price increases on reopening I don't think the higher priced options are worth re-doing. The Chef's table I would do again if I was with someone who hadn't done it yet.

Is that 6:00 AM Eastern time?

We've actually done Bull Bear many years ago. Loved it. May consider it again given the feedback, but welcome other ideas too.

Knife and Spoon at the Ritz in Orlando. It was incredible. They just received a Michelin star and deserved it.
