We have a reservation for January.
If you have eaten there, is the food and experience worth the price or would you rather have 2 or 3 great meals at other signature restaurants for your money?

absolutely worth the price at least once, especially in the main dining room. You would be hard pressed to find a 7-course fixed price meal for $125 at at 5-star restaurant anywhere else around the country.

I'm not sure about the Victoria room or the Chef's Table any longer - the last time we did the Chef's Table they were still serving foie gras, among other things.

Still, if you enjoy truly fine dining you should definitely give V&A a try - I think you will enjoy it tremendously.

EDITED TO ADD: There is no comparison between V&A and any other signature restaurant on property. You will not receive anything that rivals the food or service at V&A.

I agree with PP. It is completely worth it, at least once. The food is exceptional, and the service is outstanding. I'm going for the 3rd time next April.:thumbsup2

Victoria & Alberts is ranked as one of the top 50 restuarants in the US. I have dined at some of the others on that list and they were quite a bit more expensive than V&A. For the price, I think the value at V&A is outstanding.

You cannot compare it to the other restaurants at WDW. We try to eat here every vacation; it's very special.

I agree with the previous posters that the food, service, and atmosphere at Victoria and Albert's are all exceptional. I understand it is a good value for the quality of restaurant it is.

But . . . to really answer your question . . . I think it all depends on how adventuresome of a foodie you are. You are likely to be served very unusual items at V&As, things like squab or quail eggs, or organ meats.

I personally am a bit of a foodie but do not usually care for many of these "unusual" foods. In fact, to be blunt, they are extremely unappealing to me. Maybe I'm not as much of a foodie as I think I am. ;)

Now, to be fair, you definitely get quite a bit of choice in what you eat, especially if you're in the regular dining room. It's not that anybody forces you to eat a particular food you don't want to eat. But the menu is definitely heavily focused on many foods that are over on one end of the "unusual" spectrum.

I've eaten at V&As twice, once at the Chef's Table and once in the regular dining room. Both were extremely memorable, delicious meals. My husband still rhapsodizes about each of those dinners.

But, truth be told, I actually enjoyed the meals we had during our last trip at Narcoossee's and Jiko more than I enjoyed the meal at Victoria & Albert's. My husband's reaction to that little secret: :scared1:

Just for a different point of view. I really do like V&As, but this next trip I'm sending my DH and my DD there by themselves for a special father-daughter dinner. And I'm looking forward to my meals at a couple signature restaurants. :thumbsup2

Enjoy your Disney dining, whatever you decide!

DH and I love V & A. We like the 'regular' dining room and the Chef's Table as well. I consider V & A to be a luxurious night out, with fine food, a wonderful atmosphere, and excellent service. V & A is also a child-free zone, which is a major consideration, especially when you wish to have a romantic night out.

Eating and V & A can in no way be compared to having 2 or 3 signature meals, except simply in terms of the money spent--and if that the only basis of assessing the experience as a whole, it would likely be wasted.

I have lived in Europe and experienced many different dining experiences all around the world.
We are looking forward to the fine dining experience, I just needed re-assurance that it is the quality it presents itself to be. If not, then the money would be more wisely spent elsewhere.
Thanks for all of your input!

I thought it was definetly worth it we ate in Queen Victoria's room and loved the extra courses and table side preperation it was the best meal, wine pairings and service we have ever had. a couple of my friends went there last night and loved it so much they booked Queen Victoria's room for tomorrow night.

Def worth the money, as Pakey said it's an outstanding value considering the quality of the food and the service/atmosphere.

We did it once, we really enjoyed the experience, we won't be doing it again. If you think you would enjoy this type of dining experience at least once in your lifetime, then it is worth it.

We'd go back again in a heartbeat! I LOVED it and so did DH. We went for our anniversary and were treated even moreso. It was luxuriously decadent and most courses have a "slightly" safer choice. We decided to be very adventurous and I learned that people who truly love foie gras are not my kind of people. Lol. I just couldn't get it down my throat a second time.

There was so much other food though that I certainly didn't go hungry, and on the reverse didn't feel bloated either.

Everyone should try it at least once. Make sure you go to the bathroom too when you go!

Jenny

No worries on the foie gras. Disney won't serve it anymore, much to my disappointment.

In any event, I took a friend there a year ago. She loved it and now says that she cannot (and will not!) visit WDW without having dinner at V&A.

It is worth the money, time and way better of a value than 2 or 3 regular restaurants. DH and I would go this year again if we hadn't had to choose between V&A and Party for the Senses (something we have never done)
