We will be in WDW for my 50th birthday and my 21yo dd has made reservations at V&A for my birthday dinner. The reservation CM made her a little uncomfortable that there wasn't a "Mr" in our party. Will we feel uncomfortable at this dinner? My second question is: Our reservation is for 9:30 and she has made a reservation for my 8yo ds to go to the childcare at the Boardwalk while we dine. Will we have enough time to eat and get back to the boardwalk to pick him up by midnight? I don't want to feel rushed by the closing time of the childcare. Thanks for any help!!!!

No! What a wonderful thing for your DD to do :). You'll have a great time!

Hmmm ... 2 hours should be OK (we usually spend longer) but I think that if you're there at the start of the seating and let your Victoria and Albert know you need to leave by 11:30 they should be able to pace things for you. Another idea is to put your DS into the kid's club over at the Polynesian and pick him up on the way home so you'll have about 15-20 extra minutes.

What a nice treat for you and your daughter!

Have you considered switching to the earlier seating at V&A? That way your 8 year old won't be up so late. You also won't feel rushed.

Although we've not used it I believe the GF still has a babysitting spot...the name escapes me. If you do the early seating, I think you could pick your son up early enough to see the Electrical Water Pageant at 9:20 or so. A special treat for the three of you.

Mnmom22, I can tell you from experience that you will feel rushed. Either change your seating time to an earlier one or move the child to the GF's or Poly's childcare clubs (since they're closer, you won't need to allow so much time for child pick-up).

My children have stayed at both of the GF's and Poly's childcare clubs. They prefer the Poly's Never Land Club over the GF's Mouseketeer Club. Click here for list of WDW childcare facilities.

Can't help much with the child care Q. except to say our previous meals at V&A have lasted anywhere from 2 to 2 1/2 hours--mostly toward the 2 1/2 hour range. Part of the "experience" is the leisurely paced servings, so it isn't a meal where you would want to feel rushed in any way.
Don't even worry about not having any men in the party. I've seen "women only" tables several times at V&A, including one mother/ very young daughter combination.

Just ate there last week and we really took our time - we had the 9:30 seating and were the last ones out - at 1:00 am

I, too, would recommend the earlier seating. And I agree with everyone that no male at the table will not impede your meal.

I'm eating there solo in a couple of weeks. Though my guests bailed on me, I still won't give up the PS because I want to enjoy the experience!

You'll have a great time!

Thanks everyone----I'm going to have her call and see if we can get in earlier or have him moved to the GF or Poly child care. I'm really looking forward to this evening. We always do character meals and kid stuff when we're at WDW---- This will be a wonderful "adult" meal with my now adult daughter.

What a lovely thing for your daughter to do for your birthday! :) No, I don't think you'll feel uncomfortable at all. In fact, I'd venture to say that they might just go even *more* out of their way than normal to make you feel special.

As for feeling rushed, I'm thinking that yes, you might ... Why not switch to either the GF's childcare center, or the Poly's .. or even Fairy Godmothers in room babysitting? Any of those options will allow you to enjoy your dinner more I think. Have a great birthday!

My kids were bored at the GF Mousketeer Club. It's very small and more geared to smaller children.

They loved the Sandcastle Club at the BC. Haven't tried the Polynesian yet.
