I know that V&A offers a couple menus (regular and vegetarian) in the main dining room. I know you can cross-order from those. Does anyone know if you can order the expanded Chef's Table menu if you're not at "the table" or even just add on a few extra courses?

We did, just let them know when they call you to confirm your reservation that that is what you want to do.

There are a few add-on items available, such as the Caviar or the Kobe or Wagyu beef. As far as CT menu in main dining room, that must be arranged in advance, is the full CT meal, and is only available for the early seating.

We dined at V&A last evening. Like our June dining experience at the restaurant, it was masterfully superb! However, we can't contemplate the adding of additional courses! The seven courses were quite enough. Of course, the wine pairings certainly contributed to our feeling of "full!"

Do you mean a substitution of courses rather than an addition of courses?

Glad to hear you had another superb dinner. As piggy as it sounds, I was thinking of skipping lunch and adding a course or two (starters or fish; not another meat course). Plus, I'm used to multi-hour marathon meals.

There are only a couple meals I can think of that have surpassed my experiences at V&A (Alinea in Chicago for sure and a couple meals prepared by Morimoto himself). It's rare indeed for a restaurant to be able to deliver a flawless experience, without even the most minute slip in food or service and V&A has certainly delivered that for me a number of times. Even more impressive is that it is a relative bargain for this level of dining (unless you add the caviar or Japanese Wagyu). One month to go...I can hardly wait!!

Anyone who has avoided V&A because they think it might be too stuffy or formal should reconsider. If anything, it is a perfect introduction to this level of dining and the staff seems to know exactly what approach to take with each patron. At meal's end, there can be a whole room of blissed-out people...a beautiful thing.

Well said.
