Hello! :goodvibes

We are thinking of trying Victoria & Albert's at the GF this year, but we have one problem... neither of us really enjoy seafood. Is it still worth going? Are we allowed to tell them our preferences at all? How does it work with an ever-changing menu?

TIA! :thumbsup2

V&A does have a fish course. However with that being said, you are also presented a vegetarian menu you can order off of for any course. You can state your preference when you make your ADR, and again when you receive your confirmation phone call (a week to 10 days prior to your ADR date). I have no first hand knowledge of them working with dislikes. I was there 2 weeks ago, and not to try and sway you, but the scallop I had was propbably the best scallop I have ever eaten.

I am somewhat a picky eater and do not eat fish. We went to V&A for New Year’s Eve and there were two courses I did not care for. One was the fish course and the other was a choice between duck or elk. “Victoria” made suggestions and I ended up with one of the vegetarian selections and a smaller version of the pork entrée. The moral is if you do not like something, let them know and they will do whatever they can to make you happy. My daughter is a vegetarian and they had a completely separate menu for her.

If you are interested in our experience, here is the V&A link from my trip report: http://www.disboards.com/showpost.php?p=30174043&postcount=52 The pictures are a little blurry because I did not want to use a flash.

I like some seafood, so you may have swayed me on this one! But I know that my DF will not go for it! :sad2: Thanks for the advice - it's great to know that they call you ahead of your ADR.

Thank you for this info! I will go and check out your TR right now! :goodvibes

1) My wife's idea of fish is tuna - in a can.
2) We just told them no fish for her and they complied.

My DF doesn't even eat tuna! Now that I know they will serve him something else, I think I'll be able to convince him to go. :woohoo:

I went with a friend to V&A. I do not care for fish and my friend has a fish allergy. I recieved the regular menu and my friend received a fish free menu. I ended up choosing a few coarses (the fish course for sure) from my friends menu. If and when I go again I will ask for a fish free menu as I know they can prepare them

When you are seated they ask if you have any allergies or is there anything you do not wish to eat.
We have eaten at V &A twice-1995 on honeymoon and 2005 for our disney VR both times we did wine pairing--We both LOVED IT
