My fiance and I are going on our honeymoon next month and I had heard that the Chef's Table at V&A's is wonderful. Unfortunately, they're booked the week we're staying. Is the dining experience in the rest of the restaurant really worth the money??

Thanks!
Jaime

It really depends on what you like. We did V&A's once and we had a really nice time. The food was awesome. It was very romantic and the service was outstanding. I would recommend it to anyone who wants a special dining experience at Disney.

But for us it was a once in a lifetime experience. We have a place similar to V&A's near us that we go to on our anniversary. Besides, we try to avoid dressing up on vacations! :smooth:

All I can say is, if I could afford to eat there on every trip, I would! I've been there three times and had the best meals of my life there (barring our last meal at Palo on the Disney Wonder)! I can't say enough good things about it! If you like to dress up and be romantic this is the perfect spot!

I've been once and would love to go again...

Since you will be busy at your reception and it will all be a blur..V&A would be a lovely calm, romantic way to celebrate your nuptials. You will feel like a princess and be treated like a queen. :princess:

It is price fixe which makes it easier to enjoy all the courses--you know ahead of time pretty much what the bill would be. We did the wine pairings--and as I'm not a big red wine drinker--most of my dishes had red wine. Perhaps order a bottle of the wine you might have had at your reception or try something new. Otherwise--the meal is great.

They do have a vegetarian menu that I didn't know about until well into my meal. I'm not a veggie--but I think I am a wannabe one--in any case--I had alot of trouble choosing a main course and knowing in advance of the veg menu--I could have had a better choice dinner as most were red meat and fish choices--and the white meat choice was an unfamiliar fowl. They brought me a veg menu to see if I wanted anything--but I was eating just fine up until that point and didn't need to order from the veg menu.

Our table was by the harpist which was quite nice. Hubby forgot his jacket and was able to borrow one at V&A...so if fiance forgets his, no need to change plans or run out and buy a coat.

I highly recommend it especially since it is your honeymoon.

I have also heard California Grill is nice--it is at the top of the Contemporary and you may be able to get a reservation by a window for the evening fireworks. I have never eaten there, so you will need to solicit opinions.

Perhaps since it is your honeymoon at Disney afterall--Do both--you won't be visiting those places when and if you have children--at least not for a while

We have the chef's table booked for our honeymoon!

We've been there a few times in the last couple years and thoroughly enjoyed it each time.

Keep checking, because we called when we arrived at our hotel last year and found out it was available.

Good luck!

I have eaten at both the chef's table and in the regular dining room and both are worth it IMHO. The main dining room is MUCH more romantic, and how I would want to spend the meal if I were on my honeymoon, rather than in the hustle and bustle of the kitchen - VERY bright lighting in there too! The main dining room has wonderful live music, and an ambiance that you just can't get in many places period.
I do echo what marlogood said though, if you really do want the chef's table and if it is booked, keep trying, up until the day of when you're supposed to be eating there. I heard that there are 1 or 2 days per week that the GF concierge automatically reserves the chef's table, just in case, and it's released that day if nobody asked for it (or something like that).
but even if you can't get the chef's table, I do urge you to try the dining room.
congrats and have a wonderful honeymoon!

Have to agree with all. We've done both....the chef's table and the restaurant. While the chef's table was special and very interesting, the restaurant is much more intimate and romantic. Either way, don't miss it for a truly remarkable honeymoon dinner.

What's the benefits of the chef's table--is it just extra "cool" to see all the happenings in the kitchen, do they treat you extra special?

Seems like a neat idea.
