Up early - a lot of magic
involved when waking up my two teenagers. They sound more like bears being awakened early from hybernation
. I love them dearly
but when they transformed from sweet little girls into grizzly bears I can't recall.
Got breakfast, we are still enjoying our Eggo and have bought different types. The freezer is packed with the stuff. Although I have moments of
guilt about eating rubbish I can't fight the urge.
Jumped into the car. We headed straight off and managed to get there just after it had opened. It truely is a miracle. We head to book in for our Saving the Species Tour. The tour is for 3.15pm but we had to register before 11am.
Last year we went to Sea World but saw the dolphns quite late in the day and they were not that interested in the fish. So I got everyone around to Dolphin Cove and bought fish. DD1 - yuck - "I'm not touching that"
Seemingly another change has occured (I'm not getting my memos) and she "doesn't DO fish". Eh? How often are you given fish to feed to a dolphin? Never mind I used hers.
We spent ages here touching them and feeding them. They really came up close which was great. So much different from last year. I took several thousand photographs but I'll only post a few.
We were still playing with the dolphins when my DH went to book us in at the Shark Grill - another thing we didn't get done last year. He was told to come back at 10am (i think) as that section of the park wasn't open. When he got back to tell us we wandered over to the Stingray Lagoon.
We put on more sunscreen. I always make sure none of us come back with a sun tan - you can't tell we've been away. I buy a couple of hats and tie my hair back. Now I hate doing this as the grey, evil hairs show up, BUT it's so hot I stop caring. We get some drinks and a nibble.
It's now about time for DH to go back to book us some lunch. We decide luckily to hang around where we were and wait form him to come back. He is a lot faster at walking than us so he can dash there and back before we have gathered our stuff together.
DD3 decides to change into a swim suit with lighter clothes - YES today we are dress for the cold, but it's not
. By the time she is dressed DH is back. We had a first sitting. He did say he was about number 9 in the queue and people had actually ran to get there first. He reported that when the rope came down allowing access to that section of the park, kids were actually trampled in the rush. He was horrified.
With that booked we headed off to see Believe. We had seen the making of it last year so it was a must to see it this year. It was great and I took more photos here.
It was getting close to the time we needed to be at the Shark Grill. Taking a slowish walk to it we got there slightly early. Waited and waited. There were a lot of people but not much communication going on. All of us waiting were not given any kind of instructions, do we go in? Do we wait here?
In the end a group of us decided to storm the place an entered together - saftey in numbers
. We were then told we should have waited outside. Okay we'll go back. No stay here. Okay. Conversations were around well at least we now know what we should have done. Our waiter told us we should have come in to wait - which we did in the end but got told off from another waiter... If only one hand could talk to the other. I'm a simple folk, tell me stand here and do that and I'm happy. Leave me wondering what I should do and I always do the wrong thing

It came to over $200 before the tip. It was an experience which I'm glad we did. I wouldn't do it again for a few years though. It was really nice to watch the fishes go past, those really big ones with the pointy teeth.
Stuffed we decided to wander over to the Sky tower. On the way DD3 had her photo taken inside a shark - I haven't scanned this in yet so can't show it. It's really good.
At the sky tower we found it to be a 1.5 hour wait. We didn't have this time as our Tour would be begining soonish. We didn't have anytime for another show so we wandered around looking at animals, saw the under water dolphins and shopped (a lot).
We meet up with the tour guide. She annouces that she hoped no-one needed the loo as it would be about 1.5 hours with no toilets or drinks. I wish someone had said something before. We had 1 bottle of water and it was hot hot HOT. Now she said I can't go to the loo I want too!
The outside tour was hot, we did learn a lot and saw lots. The best bit was the end when we were allowed to feed birds. That was a lot of fun.
It was after 5pm when it was all over. We went straight to the loos and got a drink
At this point DH and DD2 wanted some serious
roller coaster action but DD1 had had too much sun on the tour and felt ill. Much to DH and DD2 disappointment we had to call it a day. I must admit I was feeling the weather too so was just as glad.
Back to the villa, play in the pool, hot meal and bed.
Not a full day but still very good.
