Thanks again for all the prayers. My wonderful FIL passed away early Friday morning. He had a rough last few days. We miss him terribly, but realize he's in a better place with no more pain. It hurt so much seeing him suffer. My MIL is holding up better than I expected. She said she missed him but wouldn't want him back to suffer the way he was. The funeral is this afternoon and I really worry about her after it is all over with. Please continue to keep us all in your prayers.
My dad is in rehab now. He is 85. He has battled with a huge hollowed out sore on his left heel for over 3 months, but never quit walking. When it got too infected, he was in the hospital on strong antibiotics for 10 days. He got so weak during that time that he couldn't walk. We wanted him to have a little rehab before he went home to live alone. He got so depressed and the antiobotics have his stomach messed up. He literally quit eating. He ended up back in the hospital with low blood and severe dehydration. He was given blood and IV fluids along with anti depressant meds. He told us all last Saturday he wanted to go on home to Heaven. Since then we moved him to another rehab. He loves the new one and has started eating a little more each day. We saw him smile for the 1st time in over a month Thursday. It's hard to explain what seeing him smile felt like. He still has a long battle with his foot and getting his strength back, so continue to keep him in your prayers. Don't forget my family also. It has been so stressful dealing with it all!
I forgot to mention that my dad has a lady friend at the same rehab. He has called her several times a day there for the last year. They let him visit her each day. The 1st time I saw him smile was after he had visited her. Maybe I should chaperone those visits?
