A few weeks ago someone asked on this forum about a "lone teen" traveling with their family and if they would enjoy the cruise. Here is the video my daughter watched before our first cruise and it hooked her on wanting to go on the cruise and to go to the Vibe.

Hopefully the person asking is still reading.

Mods, if it is not ok to post this video, then please delete.

I've posted this before. It won't be deleted.

My teen loved going to the Vibe. He made some good friends. I'm actually glad he didn't have family or friends in there with him. None of that "Do you want to go?" "No." He just did his own thing.

Our DD 12 has always loved cruising alone. She's made friends in the clubs at every age.

Thank you for posting it. It is a great video showing the kids having fun and just being kids. After seeing it I had no worries about our teen hanging in the Vibe.

Our lone teen age son loves Vibe. I will say that he was never a fan of the kid's club when he was younger. He much preferred to hang with us. But as he got older and could go to Vibe, that all changed. He still likes hanging out with us at times (yeah!) but always spends several hours a day in Vibe. I think one of the most important things - and I've read this on here many times - is for them to go on the very first night when plans are made and friendships are formed. Don't wait until day 3 to try it out for the fist time. Our son is 17. We were on the Norway/Iceland cruise a few weeks ago and sadly that will be DS's last experience with Vibe. He is looking forward to exploring some of the adult areas of the ship, but I know he will really miss having an area for his age group all to themselves.

My daughter was very shy going into our 1st cruise but she completely changed on board and was very outgoing and it has continued through our 3rd cruise.

Someone please remind me what the "get together the first night is for the kids? Where they meet and plan events? Also does it take place on deck or in Vibe?

Check the Navigator after you board your cruise, but I think it's been similar for all of my cruises:

"The Download" - 10:30pm - Come up to Vibe and help plan all the fun activities you will be doing this cruise with your new friends!

I found that entry in a random fantasy Navigator (page 3).

I had been asking a few weeks ago, before our Eastern Caribbean cruise. I worried for nothing! Our 14 year old son had the time of his life! He ran off to Vibe every chance he got, made some great friends, and can't wait to go back on board!

My 12 yo dd couldn't wait to get rid of us fast enough. She had a blast in Edge. My older dds (twins) made really good friends with a solo girl in Vibe and they hung out all week together. If a teen is willing to go and try, they will most likely find someone to have fun with.
