Couldn't wait to try this pizza...and see this restaurant...it is a beautiful place, we think lets bring all 14 of us here in Nov..This trip just DH and i.... we go every yr.
Pizza was raw.ordered a medium with the spicy sausage, tomato, cheese. We should've sent it back, normally we would have..but so hungry we ate around the edges where some of it was done....
The head manager of sorts ask how things were..."Well since you ask"..not good.He offered us free dessert, we declined and then said there would be no charge...we declined and said we had eaten some of it so we would pay..he again insisted on no charge, so we left the waiter a nice tip and left.
Guess we are just to used to Chicago pizza...
Our dinner at Fultons, Artist Point and Olivas was great...

Sorry to hear about the raw pizza! But Im glad they took care of you properly as far as customer service. Id of taken them up on their tiramisu it was pretty good!

I really liked the prosciutto and melon pizza but ours was cooked which makes a huge difference. And I've never had real pizza like Chicago's or NY's so I havent been ruined of all pizza.

We are eating there this summer.. Ill be sure to watch the reviews. Nice to hear a good moral to the story on both ends..!!:thumbsup2

We ate at Via Napoli two weeks ago and I was a little disappointed. We ordered the super size pizza and large pizza and salad for 4 adults, a 15 year old and an 11 year old. The pizza itself was pretty good (VERY thin crust) but with few toppings. The real problem for me was that with beverages we spent $150 and left still hungry...well at least he kids insisted they needed more food :). Probably won't return for that cost for pizza! :(

Thank you for making these comments. We go to Epcot frequently and have never made ADRs for Via Napoli--and have never been able to get in.

Finally made reservations for this Saturday, but now I may cancel and and have some good Sushi instead. Too bad --- the place is always crowded.

I am sorry for your experience, OP. Our was quite opposite. We cannot wait to go back to Via Napoli! We paid OOP with the TIW about a month and a half ago. We ordered the family style salad and shared it, and a large four cheese pizza. We had the fruit drinks (fresca's, I think) to drink. The only thing we would change is that though we enjoyed the drinks and are glad we tried them, we would be fine with diet coke next time...and that would save a few dollars. This was really NOT an expensive meal and we did not even desire dessert when we were finished. LOVED IT!

I have been to Italy and can say that is typical preparation for the pizza there. Very thin and limp crust with large, but sparse toppings. I got an authentic pasta dish and it was very good.

When prepared properly (which it is most of the time), Via Napoli embarrasses the best pizzerias in New York. Trust me, I've been to all of them multiple times. You would be extremely hard pressed to find a good slice of thin pizza that is on par with Via Napoli because very very few pizzerias in New York use wood fire ovens, which is the huge deciding factor. The few that do are maybe close to Via Napoli, but I would still rank Via Napoli as much better.

As far as Chicago style, you can't really compare the two because they are structured entirely differently.

I've posted this on DIS before - Via Napoli does an authentic Neopolitan pie, and does it very well! It's even tough to find one here in Brooklyn!

You can't even compare it to Chicago pizza...and don't get me started on that topic anyway (firmly in the NY camp on that one) :)

Sorry about your experience!

We are planning on trying Via Napoli in October. I'm really looking forward to it....hopefully we won't be disappointed!!

I just posted a short dining review from our recent trip, and Via Napoli was far and away our worst meal for this vacation, and possibly even of all time. Our pizzas were both mushy and undercooked in the middle.

I have read lots of great reviews of the place tho, so I hope the bad experiences are just "flukey".

I will go ahead and go out on a limb here and say, "If you order a pizza at Via Napoli expect it to be soft in the middle and the toppings sparse." Go in with that in mind please. That is simply the way the pizza is. That is how it is prepared. If you don't like smushey pizza please don't order it. Keep that in mind and I think you will greatly enjoy the many other items on the menu.

My son and I ate at Via Napoli a couple of weeks ago and I did comment that our pizzas were limp in the middle, but we both agreed that they were delicious and it didn't stop us from eating every last piece! We have reservations for our next trip in August!

We love Via- the style of pizza is just to my liking- I think their Margarita pizza is fab!

That's too bad ... I heard good things about Napoli.

I'm definately going to give it shot to see for myself.

Thanks very much for sharing!

Cheers,

Hmm...not the biggest fan of shmushy pizza.. how are the other offerings?

Great to hear that customer service was just as it should be!:goodvibes

Had 2 items, loved both. The spaghetti with mini veal meatballs was delicious. And the dessert which was orange soda (San Pelligrino?) and vanilla ice cream was excellent. The restaurant has a nice ambiance, the pizza ovens are so cool!

If you want the pizza xtra crispy try ordering it that way. We have a pizza place in town where we have to order it that way or well done because it tends to be undercooked in our opinion. That said we ate at VN in Nov and liked the pizza and the dessert Zeppole was TDF!

We went to VN in November, and the pizza was decent. The rest of the food, though, was not. Tutto Italia is way better by far, not even close.
