We ate at Via Napoli last night on the dining plan. When I made ADRs we didn't have the plan and I thought pizza and salad would be a cost effective way to eat sit down at Epcot....I might agree that this is true but...this was a terrible waste of a TS credit IMHO.

Our experience was that of a local pizza place: wood tables, no ambience unless you count the multitude of screeching kids, pasta that literally came out of the kitchen in 5 minutes, and 15 minutes before the pizza making it even worse. Food was okay, half carafe of wine was reasonable and we both loved our desserts (gelato and fried ricotta balls with chocolate dipping sauce). Long story short -- great very casual place for families with small children who like pizza, not so great for two adults looking for a nice Italian meal with upscale pizza.

Love this place! Just ate there Jan 10 for the first time and had the best pizza ever!!! We ordered the mozzarella caprese, the carciofi pizza and tiramisu! I can not wait to go back in April!

Sorry to hear that you didn't care for it.

It's one of my favorites. They have great pizza...this coming from a Jersey Girl, who is super picky about Italian food. The place is very large, and has high ceilings and no carpeting...so it does get quite loud. However, that does not create a negative dining experience for most.

Not sure what you mean by "upscale pizza"....is there such a thing?

I was lucky enough to go to Via Napoli when it wasn't very busy. We didn't even need an ADR, we were able to walk right in, that's how slow the park (or maybe just that restaurant?) was that day! To be fair, we were really hungry (it was around 5 or 6 and we hadn't eaten since breakfast) and we weren't expecting anything too fancy, but we got the Quattro Formaggi and loved it! It was delicious and really seemed authentic to me, so I personally found it to be a bit more upscale than the average pizza places we have near where I live on Long Island New York, but I'm sorry that your experience didn't quite meet your expectations!

This was the first ADR I made for upcoming trip, then 'Ohana, Kona, and le Cellier. My family really liked it. Four females with one pizza, fancy drinks, apps, and enough room for desserts. My kids get fancy flavored water or something. I let them splurge on options for all courses, we try everything we want, sharing without extra charge and I do not worry too much on cost. The dining plan does not include all that we would prefer to have at this venue, so I would agree that a table service credit could be used better elsewhere.

We also love Via Napoli but its definitely not a good use of a TS credit. We had 4 adults and 1 child and we ordered the Mezzo metro pizza and salads and it was enough for all for less than $70. Much better choice for OOP.

That was really my point...that it is not a good use of a TS credit. Had we not been on the dining plan (which we were not when I made the ADR) I would have been much more pleased but because I knew we could potentially have been eating at Saana or another TS restaurant, it diminished the value in my eyes. At the very least, they should add a side salad to the entrees when ordering on the plan. We really wanted a salad but I wasn't willing to shell OOP for it with a $7pp surcharge, min of two people).

We liked the pizza, it was fine. My biggest complaint is that our two dinners were served 15 minutes apart, mine at the same time as my wine and my daughters pizza just about the time I finished up. My second complaint was the atmosphere...it was lacking.

And for the person who quoted me about the screeching kids, it's my experience that behavior of both adults and children often mimic the atmosphere, both tend to be better behaved in a more subdued, more upscale atmosphere than a pizza parlor/pub, that was my only point.

We quite liked the atmosphere. And, our waiter was handsome with a sweet personality. At the time my DD14 was taking Italian in high school. Since then, we moved to Omaha where they do not offer more than the two standard foreign languages. Even still, I think she enjoyed this meal the most and asked to go back again. I'm happy not to have the dining plan, so we can enjoy appetizers instead of desserts at lunchtime. However, at Via Napoli, we will also get dessert.

I understand what you mean. Any way you slice it (Haha) it's an expensive meal for pizza. When I pay a lot for dinner out I may be conditioned to expect a nice date night atmosphere, so I appreciate what you are saying. One of the reasons I don't consider WDW a place for romance, but a place for family fun.

Thank you :flower: Now I feel understood lol. When my kids were younger at WDW, we did Chef Mickeys, Whispering Canyon, Ohanas, etc. and I prepared for and expected subpar food, messy floors, and loud kids, including my own. I didn't expect that at Via Napoli. I definately consider it a family venue for younger children with WDW-priced pizza.
