We did them on consecutive days. Every member of our family liked Tutto Italia better. The restaurant was quieter, due to carpeting and soft furnishings, and everyone thought the food was better.
It was a nice one credit table service meal, but I would not recommend either if you are paying oop.
Via Napoli had pizza with a very very thin crust, and our family likes Chicago Style Pizza, so that did not go over very well with our son. He knew it was going to be thin crusted and decided to give it a try. He did not enjoy the pizza at all.
The one thing we all liked at Via Napoli was a dessert item, Zeppole di Catarina. These things were ricotta cheese fritters served with a chocolate sauce and a wonderful ending to a bland and lackluster meal. Yet, those few balls of fried dough were ten dollars, and something I would never have ordered if I was not on the dining plan. I could run down to the French Bakery and purchased two Napoleons, with change left over, for the price of one order of ricotta fritters.
The worst food item we had at Via Napoli was the Spaghetti Torta served with the Chicken Parmigiana. It was burnt in a couple spots to the point of being returned to elemental carbon. It was tough, flavorless, and frankly inedible. I told my waiter and he brought the manager who told me it was something that you have to "grow to like" and that it was a traditional italian side dish.
I have been to Italy, and while I was a college student eating at "hole in the wall" joints I was never served burned or flavorless food.
The manager did offer to make me another dish, free of charge, but at that point the meal had already taken way too much of our time and I did not want to wait another 20 minutes for a new entree to make its way to our table. If the other diners at our table had loved their meals then I might have taken her up on the offer, but since no one liked their meal I didn't see the point in wasting my time for what seemed likely to be another sub par meal.
If you want good Italian, I suggest heading over to Il Mulino at the Swan and Dolphin. It is not on the
Disney Dining Plan, so you will be paying out of pocket, but the food is good and almost worth the high prices.
