Just got back from the Via Napoli grand opening festivities, which included Mickey, Minnie, and even grape stomping! Click here for my report with photos. I got to try a lot of the menu items and the pizza was delicious! My favorite had cheese, artichokes and truffle oil, and the calamri was delicious. The fried cheese balls are wonderful for dessert, although the tiramisu was yummy too. They're going to start taking ressies tomorrow, and I have the feeling this is going to be a popular place.

Thanks for the fun report!

:goodvibes I love Minnie in her dress!

Have they started explaining how the pizzas are going to work with the dining plan?

Besides the Pizza, I don't understand why another Italian TS restuarant was needed, am I alone in this?

Thanks for posting/sharing OP.
I noticed that all the servers........ were Men??? Interesting...is that "old World Italian :rotfl2::rotfl2:

Looks Yummy, we hope to try it during the soft opening over next few weeks....as I understand reservations are for Sept...

There are female servers too but for some reason they weren't in the initial line-up.

It's hard to compare the pizza to American versions (I'm a Chicago pizza gal myself). It's different, yet not different enough to turn off kids and people who are not overly adventurous. It does seem odd to have two restaurants, but this one seems more family-friendly with a totally different atmosphere. It's more for a quicker or lighter meal than the other place. I had initially thought it would be counter service too but I don't think they'd be able to maintain the quality level as a quick service place. Would be nice if they could add a take-out window tho', kind of like how you get get fish & chips in the U. K.

We're planning to try it for dinner tonight so will report back. Was it very full for lunch or did most folks not realize it was open yet?

Thanks for the review! We're planning on stopping by in a couple of weeks and I plan to make an ADR for December when they open up tomorrow :).

Thanks so much for the info and photos!! It looks super nice! I'm going to try and eat there while on vacation w/ my mom in 3 weeks

Obviously, when a cuisine as fabulous as Italian is being served, you can't have enough seating! ;)

I asked about the DDP and pizza. An individual with be 1 TS credit, large 2 TS credits,t and 1/2 meter will be 4 TS credits. We ordered a large for 2 adults and it was more than we could eat so this could be a deal for a family of 3. We saw a family of 4 who left just under half of the 1/2 meter pizza.

As for the food, the calamari was yummy as an appetizer - very flaky, not overly breaded. I didn't like our pizza choice much but DH did. If you are a beer drinker, just order a pitcher. We got almost 6 full mugs out of the pitcher which costs the same as 2.5 individual mugs.

love pizza...but the pizza from your hometown (local pizza place) is hard to top.the breakdown of how they charge you for a pie is confusing. large pie 2 ts ($27 for a cheese and pep) when a dinner at lecellier steak runs abt $36 at dinnertime and counts as 1 ts? Did i miss something? Also nxt year is the rest. on the ddp? thanks to all who have added to this post..the pizza place sounds like a good addition. N.Y. pie is still the best.

thanks for the report, Barb...great pictures of Mickey & Minnie...loved the costumes they're in. Can't wait to try the calamari...love me some squid!

I think we could have chosen better, but I went with DHs choice. I did read that Le Cellier is going to 2 TS in March.

You might also like the fried veggies. At the media event they served them mixed in with the calamari, but apparently they are a separate appetizer on the menu. They were delicious.

Hey Everyone! Made my ressies this morning, online! The online system IS taking reservations for Via Napoli- got the date and time I wanted!

I agree, I was hoping it would be a CS. Think it can hold up to Philly pizza??:sad2:

It looks like Pietro's to be honest (Rittenhouse Sq). So I'll pass.

This is my favorite type of pizza, but since I can get it at home I'll try different things. For those who cannot get 'semi-authentic' pizza, it is likely worth trying! Nothing beats what I had in Italy honestly. For those on the dining plan, it doesn't seem to be that great of a value compared to say Coral Reef, Les Chefs, or Tutto at EPCOT for example.
