Curious to know how this works..

I am traveling solo and decided to upgrade to the regular dining plan...

I want the pizza for sure, but how would this work? Am I stuck to the individual pizza? Or can I get anything I want on the menu and take the leftovers back to the room?

Thanks,

Hmm... Think its worth it? I can get a $14.99 pizza there or a $35 steak elsewhere... i dunno

A lot of people here are absolutely crazy about their pizzas. Me...not so much. It's a lot of crust and not a lot of toppings. If you love a lot of crust, then you'll probably like it. If you have a Mellow Mushroom close to you, and you like it, then imagine it with less toppings. Same crust.

Personally, when I go to Via Napoli, I get a pasta dish instead. Some of their pasta dishes are really good. I believe it's a complete waste of a TS credit to get an individual pizza there, but that's just my opinion.

Thanks for that information,

I'm a Chicago guy so I'm a fan of my deep dish pie pizza, but also won't bad-mouth me some NY Style pizza. Never had the authentic Sicilian pizza like they have here.... I'll read a few more replies and make a decision to keep this ADR or not.

Wish O'Hanas was free during my trip! :( All booked

At Via Napoli, if you want pizza, only the individual size is eligible on the dining plan. It is a thin crust wood fired pizza. You can choose one of their signature pies or the basic build your own. If you want additional toppings on the build your own they will be out of pocket. You can also order any of the other entrees at VN when using the dining plan. My husband usually orders one of the pasta dishes.

For 'Ohana keep checking online to see if a cancellation comes up. You can continue looking up to the day you want to dine there. You can start by looking for 1, but there is a quirk in the dining reservation system that makes it harder to find an odd number reservation. You can also look for a party of 2 because the system wants to fill all the seats at a table. Since a solo will be seated at a 2 top, it will bypass a party of one, but add a second person and often availability opens up. As long as you show up for the reservation you will not be charged for the "missing" person.

You can also subscribe to the cancellation thread for your month, but be sure to read the rules in the first post:

Like others have said, if you want to use the DP, try a pasta dish instead. We've had several & they were all delicious. Best item on the menu though (imho) is Zeppole di Caterina for dessert! Fried ricotta cheese balls, and you get to dip them in chocolate sauce and whipped cream. Usually 2 of us share them, but a few times I've gotten one just for me - it's a nice huge helping!

PS keep checking for Ohana. Every time we've gotten a reservation there it was a few weeks out from our trip when something opened up.

I saw some photos of their pizza online too and am concerned. Looks like a TON of crust!

We are huge via Napoli pizza fans. We never do the dining plan so that isn't a consideration, but their amazing pizza keeps bringing is back. I've never found the crust to be excessive and love when it gets nice and charred in the oven. Our favs are the sausage and broccoli rabe, artichoke and truffle, and prosciutto and cantaloupe.

We enjoyed the pizza, but honestly, I don't know that I'd waste a TS credit on an individual pizza again. We discussed going this year and talked about paying oop to share a pizza to come out better in the long run.

I'm in your boat...im on the QS DDP but paying OOP for just a small pizza here, $14-17 for me.

WOW!!!

Just had this today and amazing!

Totally different than what I'm used to. Sauce is very thin and not overpowering like it is in the states. Crust is very thin and minimal. Just an overload of great natural flavors.

Glad everyone suggested this place!

Also, I had an ADR for 8:15 and was in EPCOT at 4. I finally got tired of walking around and did everything I wanted to since the park wasn't that crowded by 6. They accommodated and took me at 6PM.

Great pizza!

When we were last there, the only way you can get a full size pie on the DDP is if you have at least 4 people. I don't know if this was 4 adults, or a combination. With regards to the pies, They are good, but in my opinion the individual pies weren't really any better than Bertucci's or any other chain pizza themed restaurant. I'll take an authentic NY pie any time :D

I would definitely eat at Via Napoli and I would definitely pay OOP. It will be a cheap meal and will give you an extra TS credit to use elsewhere!

My meal for 2 beers and sausage pizza for me was $36. Not bad.
