VH pricematch promise V Disney UK

I've just rung VH, to price up next year. For the beach club they gave me a quote of 5377 for the three of us plus park tickets.

I then told that Disney UK were cheaper, with exactly the same flights and accomodation. Could they price match?

He went away for a while and came back saying no they couldn't as VH were offering free dining. I said Disney Uk were also offering free dining.

He then went away again, and said they couldn't get into the Disney website and could I e-mail him a screen shot of Disney UK.

He said that if there were no differences then yes they would match the price.

I am now waiting for them to ring back. I have yet to tell them that I want to pay with my Tesco deals, so we will see, if I can save another £300.00.

Maybe I should also have asked, why the same holiday is cheaper on Travel City Direct too, with the same flight!

Has anyone any experience of getting them to honour the price match?

I haven't got any WDW experience but I use clubcard deals for everything, and I don't think you can take advantage of any special offers and use clubcard deals.

I know that when we have booked holidays using the clubcard deals, any special promotions were not included - we had to pay the full brochure price. I wonder whether they will honour the free dining if you use clubcard deals? Fingers crossed for you.

They will honour the free dining part of the holiday, as I have paid with Tesco's vouchers before for this. I will have to pay the tax and the park tickets with hard cash though. Which will be around£1300.00

Ooooh, now you've got me thinking... I had ruled out Virgin and Tesco because I assumed it would take the price sky-high. I collect a fair amount of points and if they price-match Disney - well, it would certainly make it more affordable!

Can I be nosey, please? When you have booked with VH before (using Tesco deals) were you able to book the whole package - flights, accommodation, car hire, park tickets - and then deduct the price of your deals? Were there any exclusions? I'm assuming you don't get the web-price but the brochure price. My little brain is whirring like mad at the moment.

Yes you can be nosey, happy to share.

we stayed at OKW last year had the free dining plan. The cost of the holiday was all paid for with Tesco deals £3400 ish. The only thing we had to pay for was our part tickets, and car hire. I did the car hire myself through USrentacar.

For this year, we are going to LA and San Diego, again all paid for with deals, except the car hire, we also paid with deals for the connecting flights from MAN.

However, there has now been a change in their terms and conditions and for our next holiday, if we go to Florida next year, then we will get the flights, accomodation and free dining paid for with deals. I will have to pay the taxes/ressort fees in cash around 600 for the 3 of us, the car hire and park tickets in cash.

If for example I was staying at a moderate and wanted to add the full dining plan to my booking or have an upgrade on the room, I would have to pay cash for that too.

Posst more info and I will see if I can work out what you need to pay cash for. You don't get another discounts, for example frequent virgin or on-line discounts.

Basically do a dummy booking for everything you want, then take off park tickets, car hire, upgrades and taxes. The rest you can pay with deals.

£3400 in clubcard deals? How long did it take you to save those up? I get diesel and groceries and get about £40 a quarter - it would take a few years to save £800! I thought I was doing well to get about £1500 off. Any tips?

I want to go in 2012 - there will be me, DH and 3 DD's (they'll be 12, 8, 5). I wanted to go in October for 2 weeks (including the half-term week) and it will take me until then to save up. We would have to have the 2 bed villa at OKW - which bumps the price up a bit.

Just to add, VH have got back to me. they price matched the holiday, but woudln't let me pay with deals, they wanted full price. So I told them I would book with disney and use my deals for a cosmos holiday.

That's a shame. It seems that the Tesco deals aren't what they used to be. They seem to be imposing more restrictions. Thanks for the pm.
