VGT rooms-When will we get a room assignment?

We're sailing on the March 4 cruise, and it looks like they still have verandahs of all or most types still available because they're still being advertised. Will DCL cut it off at some point, or might we have to wait until the date of sailing if they don't sell out?

Last minute guarantees are typically assigned 10-14 days out from the cruise (generally on a Tuesday). That being said, guarantee assignments can be at any time between the original booking day up to, and including, embarkation day.

Our experience with VGT rooms (done this 4 times now) is that they get assigned no sooner than 2 weeks before the sailing and more like 9 or 10 days.

Both of my cruises were VGT & both were posted in the late afternoon on the 11th day out.

Can't book a cruise 72 hours or less, so I would stay they would be pretty certain then what rooms are available. Hope you get an upgrade.

That's not exactly true. You can't book a cruise online within 72 hours, but you can call and book one pretty much up until departure morning, from what I've read.

hate to admit this but we were able to book one the night before departure, there was a cut off time so that they could get the passenger info on the manifest and they had to hand deliver it according to the CM. It was like 7 pm eastern if I remember? We had it on a courtesy hold and ended up not going but it was definitely possible!! this was in january of this year on a cruise out of miami.

We got our stateroom number on Tuesday just like PrincessSchmoo said! It seems like a really nice room, too. They put us in a category 5A!
