VGF waitlist chances??

What do you think are the chances of a Lake View Studio coming available at Grand Floridian? I currently have a Lake View Studio room for Jan 15-16 and a Standard View Studio for Jan 16-17, I would love to get them combined to one view. I currently have a waitlist for Jan 16-17 to try and get the Lake View. What do you think are my chances of it coming through?

Not great, there are only 14 studios and someone has to cancel for your same dates. In addition 2 bedroom lockoffs reduce that number.

Boo!! I was really hoping I could combine my stay. Is it difficult moving rooms in the same resort? Has anyone ever done this? I have moved resorts after 4 nights or so but never just rooms after one night.


Also, how does it work if I buy using cash? Would they combine my room then?

Last I read 30% of the rooms are not available for DVC bookings so my count above may be high. Problem is we don't know what rooms are removed from DVC inventory by Disney and/or if they will make them available for the DVC cash discount.

IMO moving after 1 night is a waste, after 7 nights, not so much.

Unfortunately, since it is past the 31 day mark, it is very unlikely for your waitlist to come through. I do feel your pain as we were in basically the exact same situation with same dates but for VGC. I had a waitlist for 31 days out, but it didn't get filled and had to pay for a cash room as it was through RunDisney and had a final payment at the 30 day mark. I hope it comes through for you, but there are SO many things worse than having to change a room while at WDW.

Never know, my BWV waitlist for 1 night came through at 28 days last month.

I think it is slim. I had one night the 14t of Dec for a studio, any view waitlisted for three months and it did not come through.

You never know, really! I don't think the split stay will be that much of a hassle within resorts. Talk to the CMs about where you can put your things and they wi probably make it easy for you. they might even put them in your room as soon as it's ready, while you are having a blast at the parks

Depending on where you are in the resort- you may just need to move across the hall- I would think they should be able to keep your on the same floor in which case there is not that far of moving. The big thing would be when the room you are moving into is opening up and therefore if bell services has to hold your things.

VGF is such a small resort, they may not have availability on the same floor. The upside is you can walk between rooms in a couple of minutes no matter where they are and/or Bell Services has storage at VGF.

I'm waitlisted for a deluxe studio at Grand Floridian for 2/19-2/22. My home resort is AKV, so I wasn't able to book GF until recently.

I know no one knows for sure, but does anyone have an idea of what my chances are of this waitlist coming through? I really want to stay there. I have a AKV room booked already, just in case this doesn't work out.

I know it's Princess Marathon weekend though (that's why we're going then).

Any ideas?

We have had a waitlist for 1 night, end of September in place for 4 months and I check availability daily.

We are staying for 9 nights her in less than 2 weeks. Originally we were splitting our stay at BLT (our home resort) with 7 nights in a deluxe studio at VGF. Then out of no where 3 months after I put in for the wait list if got an email saying our wait list came through. Don't lose hope. It is possible! Good luck!
