VGF vs RIV with young kids

I'm not familiar with what is being discussed in this post. What is the park adjacent exodus in 2042?
BCV and BWV contracts expire in 2042 as will BRV although that one isn’t considered park adjacent.

Got it. I'm just not seeing why that would mean people are going to take the position that resale restrictions don't mean anything in a resale purchase. When I bought resale VGC a huge selling point was being able to use the points at other resorts. We just stayed at Kidani last week using our VGC points. Obviously not a great value but we had lots left over since we bought a loaded contract. In 20 years that still leaves quite a few resorts you can use resale points at. Even 40 years from now there will still be Copper Creek and Polynesian, correct? I'd be more worried about Orlando being below sea level than the expirations.

Its all about the options presented. You going from VGC to a WDW resort is different than a MK owner going to stay at SSR. When you randomly choose 1 time out of 5 or 10 years to go WDW you take what you can get. When an owner at VGF is going 10 out of 10 years to WDW they are not trading a VGF stay for SSR.

So all those SSR and OKW points are going to be pushing even harder on the limited options left in the system while the MK points will not be booking elsewhere since the incentive to leave VGF will be SSR (yay).

As far as sea level Disney is rich enough they can put up a wall to keep the water out easily. Worry about those Caribbean Islands not Disney. Heck value only go up when BLT has ocean views.

Lobbies are hang out spots. That matters for a lot of people. Resort grounds also are important for a lot of guests. I still love being in the gf main lobby and the resort grounds despite a half dozen or so stays.

But RIV has both the lobby and the little library setting right off of it. So, there are plenty of cute little spots to hang out if one wishes to spend time...but, they also have some of the best outside furniture to relax in near the pools that are not a staple at the other resorts...which, when its not raining, are quite enjoyable..

While we stay at both RIV and VGF almost every trip, can't say I have ever spent time in the lobby at either place...but, I can say we spend more time hanging around the resort grounds at RIV then we ever do at VGF.

But, as you said, we all have our own likes and dislikes...which is why DVC is so great!!! The feeling you say you get walking into some of the resorts you own is the feeling that I get at RIV....each and every time...driving up its just like "wow"!

BCV and BWV will be gone in 2042 and most likely, whatever replaces them will be restricted from resale buyers. That means trading will be even more difficult to get into for the near park resorts that are left...and that is likely to have an impact on the ability to sell non restricted resorts since in essence, people may find that there won't be much left to trade into anyway.

Now you are making me want to stay at Riviera! I'll convince my wife and kids at some point.
