We (3 people) have decided to go to the 6 PM show of La Nouba on Wednesday, December 16 at 6 PM.
We are staying at the Grand Floridian (DVC Studio).

What is the best and easiest way to get to DTD?
My mother has limited mobility (can't walk too far or too much).
We will not have a car. I'd like to take Disney Transportation but it seems like that may be a nightmare and take forever.

Can we take a cab or UBER? If so, do you know the estimated cost?
How much time should we allow. We want to arrive in DTD no later than 5 PM.

What about our return?
We have a dinner reservation at 9 PM (Narcoossee's) so we don't want to waste much time.

I appreciate your advice and feedback.

Could we take Disney transportation or UBER to a nearby resort (Port Orleans) and then take a disney boat to the West Side Boat Launch?

Would that be easier?

No trip anywhere, ever, has taken forever. Everybody always gets to the destination eventually.

You could take a cab or Über. Google taxifareestimator for the former, download the Über's app to get an idea of the cost of the latter.

Allow 90 minutes by WDW transportation.

WDW transportation doesn't travel between resorts. Why do you think it might be easier to use two different forms of transportation and transfer when that's not necessary?

If someone in a party has limited mobility, it's a good idea to use a cab, or Uber. Yes, it will cost you, but Uber should be reasonable. Taking the monorail to MK, then walking to the buses, then busing to POR, walking to the boat, riding to DTD and then walking to Cirque? Bad idea...takes too long, and is too convoluted.
A cab will drop you as close as possible to Cirque, then pick you up close to Cirque. I would get a cab for around 4:15, no later than 4:30. No, it won't take that long to get there, but it's always a good idea to leave plenty of time.

Thanks for your help. Hopefully traffic will settle by December, but that may be wishful thinking as the crowds will increase around that time.

We will plan to take UBER or the Disney Bus directly to DTD.

Also what folks do not realize is not to count on taking a boat especially the POR boat if you have some where important to be. The reason is that if it is a windy day those boats close down because they can't run on that small body of water.

Isn't it a bit crazy that you need to allow 90 minutes to travel 8 miles in Disneyworld?!

Unless something has changed, I wouldn't do the bus to DTD with someone who has limited mobility. The Marketplace bus stop is at the complete opposite end of DTD from La Nouba. Last year, we did a MK bus to Old Key West and then took the boat, which drops you right by La Nouba. This did take a while though...but we like the relaxing boat ride.
