VGF Theme Park view inquiry

Hello! So I am coming across various threads that using out points for a VGF Resort Studio Theme Park View may be a complete waste. Trees, etc are some views. I even looked on Touring Plans to maybe get an idea on rooms to request ( I know requests are not guaranteed!), but that was not helpful as the views from room to room varied greatly and I know that site is not 100%. I saw someone post room 9347 was a tree! Does anyone have good specific room #s to request? Or I am thinking I just hope for the best and if I get the tree/woods or the top half of the Contemporary- as I saw on Touring Plans- that I just go to DVC and, well, complain. ( I hate to even say that - but why would I use my points for that when a tree is not the park. And for the record in 10+ trips I have never had anything to complain about- very lucky!) Thank you all! Have a lovely holiday!

We stayed a couple of nights in 9241 this past October. There was a tree off to the left but I still thought the view was nice! It was a one and done experience for us, I think. Cool, but I won't want to spend the points for that anymore! The only fireworks that we were in the room to see were the ones from the Halloween party, but it was cool to sit on the balcony and see what we could see.

Thanks so much for this info! That view is lovely. It would only be 2 nights tacked on to the end of a dance stay ( required to stay at Riverside- not allowed to use our dvc for dance) So I thought our last 2 nights we’d end the day early and sit around with the view. But then I’m also thinking maybe it would be better to use more points for a 1 BR

I'm probably in the minority here, but my advice is to splurge a bit and get a 1 bedroom. You'll appreciate the extra amenities -esp the washer & dryer & the extra space to spread out a bit. :teeth:

Good luck at the competition.

Thanks! Luckily it’s just to dance in a parade so don’t have to compete lol! The only thing is it would only be 2 nights so do we REALLY need the space but also we will have been in a regular room for 5 days already so maybe we will want that space 🤣

We did lake view VGF 1B and really liked it! It was beautiful at night overlooking the water, and the water pageant went by us. I would have cheaped out on a different view if it was available, but in this case, I was glad I didn’t get what I wanted.

I’m team 1 br., they are lovely & so spacious. I prefer standard view in the original VGF building (where the 1+ br.s are located) for the points savings & the chance to get a view like this - photo taken from 1 br. standard view balcony:

If you don’t get one of these standard views, the patio in front of Gasparillas is my favorite place to hang out & watch/listen to MK fireworks.

We stayed in a theme park view resort studio one night before a cruise and were very disappointed. We were on the 4th floor with a partial view of the fireworks. I would never waste points for that studio again (32 for one night).

We were just moved from the poly to a regular theme park view room at the GF. It was a perfect firework view. Like night and day compared to the DVC resort studio. We loved that room!

Wait the non- dvc TP view was better?!

I can’t decide what to do! Lol

I'd say that a stay of 2 nights is a good chance to try the TPV and see what you think. 10 could go into a room and probably have different opinions of how good the view is. lol But it can depend on your expectations. If what you want is a perfect fireworks view it might be risky. If you consider relaxing during the day watching the activity on the lake as part of it then fireworks might just be the cherry on top.

I was thinking of sitting there at night our last day

If you really want a great view of the fireworks, then BLT is better suited for that.
I assumed the views at BLT are much much better- maybe I’ll wait, do a 2BR at VGF and then just do BLT one day in the future. GF is our home and we have yet to stay there lol
