VGF Question

Hey guys! My DH wanted me to ask a question, so I hope you can help! Do VGF owners have any difficulty getting studios at 11 months out? We’d most likely travel July and/or November. Thanks so much!!!

Yes. With the higher point requirements at VGF there seemed to be an extra number of people who purchased small contracts with plans for studios. You'll find many, many reports of issues booking studios at VGF. November will be an issue however at the moment, July is a bit slower time and a bit easier. I'd hesitate in buying VGF with the plan to always get a studio in November at least. Now, of course someone has to get them but they are popular so not everyone can at the busy DVC times. Since fixed weeks were also sold there that immediately removes some of the inventory for people owners who do not have the fixed week.

I would agree with Kat4Disney. November is a very busy period. You have to be on your toes at 11 months to get a studio then. There are more people who want these rooms than there are rooms. If you want to consistently go at this time you will have less stress if you book a one bedroom at 11 months out. THey do not disappear so quickly. Sometimes Lake View studios will be briefly available after the standards views are gone.

As for July, your odds are much greater for a standard studio.

For 1 BR, 2BR, and GV, you should find availability at 11 months most of the year.

Having said all that, it is a great resort. Well worth the hassle in my opinion.

All I can say, is that I have not had a problem.

Maybe I am just lucky.

I do get on line as early as possible and I hit that book key right at the opening time.

But so far, so good.

Standard view studios at VGF were available at 11 months earlier today at about 3pm for Nov 23. I’m not sure if there still are any.

It may be helpful to analyze why that is the case.
1) it is the day after Thanksgiving, one of the most expensive point days of the year, and a time when many people have family traditions.
2) it is in the middle of the week. A lot of people plan for vacations starting on Saturday or Sunday.
3) It is at the end of the December use year, so those folks may be waiting for Dec 1 to get access to new points.

So the conclusion is, by Dec 1, the availability will be difficult, as usual.

Since it's just that one day (11/24), I think walking is happening for early December stays. Waitlist and stalking should work out for those who want Thanksgiving week and late November. Still a hassle / challenge though.

I would check daily on a VGF studio, there are a lot of walkers try for studios. You might not get the day you want right at 11 months, but 11 months plus 1 or 2 days.

We own at VGF, and LOVE it! However getting any reservation is difficult. I got up in the middle of the night to be ready to book the moment it opened 11 months out. I had to jump at that second, and be ready to book for our Nov. 27th to Dec. 6th trip. It was worth it. Most beautiful trip ever! On the web site, the site seemed to open at midnight Florida time, but if you wait to call in, you have to wait till morning when operators are available. Good Luck.

I know that is what I thought too, but for some reason that one time, I was able to book at midnight. Weird, but I was happy. Still, getting online the minute you can, will make all the difference.
