I am trying to decide between a 1 bedroom lake view at VGF or a 1 bedroom TPV at BLT. It is a 2 week trip but since we will have a 5 year old and just under 2 year old, I would prefer not to do a split stay. All of our previous stays have been at Contemporary and BLT as we love the short walk to MK and watching the fireworks from our room. I would love to try VGF (and my daughter recently watched the Full House episode and wants to stay where the Tanners stayed!) but am worried that I will regret not booking BLT once we get there. The walking path to VGF should be done by then but it seems like the walk will be considerably longer. I know this is a personal preference but any opinions would be amazingly helpful!

I have stayed at CR but not BLT, so can't really comment on that. I have stayed at VGF and, IMHO, it has the most beautiful rooms on property. Beautiful finishes, well laid out and incredibly comfortable. If you don't mind being a little removed from the main GF building and what will potentially be a longer walk to MK, I would definitely consider it.

We have stayed at both BLT and VGF. The room at VGF is gorgeous! At BLT, not so much, however BLT has an extra full bathroom. That is a huge plus. The walk to MK from BLT is so short and easy. My family doesn't stay in the room very much and we have two teens (need that extra bathroom!), so BLT is the winner in our case.

If the short walk and extra bath appeal to you, you could spend time at VGF dining, walking around, etc. so your DD can spend time where the Tanners stayed.

We have stayed at Grand Floridian in the main building, in the GF DVC villas, and at the Contemporary - main building. For me there is nothing at Disney that compares to the Victorian feel and the decorating at the Grand. However, my significant other loves the Contemporary best. So much of theming is personal preference. The walk to Magic Kingdom from the Contemporary is a great benefit but the walk from GF will soon be done. (Although it will be a far longer walk. Not a bother for me but may be for some. I actually embrace the walk option no matter the distance.) I can say the rooms at the GF villas are very "tired" and really really need an update. (Not so much things like tile/mirrors/appliances but certainly paint and furniture.) Tour the Riviera and you will know what I mean. Big difference.) Our rooms in the GF main building and at the Contemporary have all been beautiful and pristine. We are to stay at Bay Lake for the first time in January. Fingers crossed I like. If not, back to our "home" at GF villas. Just wanted to compromise and try something different this trip.

Thanks everyone! We've never visited GF which I think makes the decision a bit harder. From the map, it seems like the villas are a bit of a hike from the monorail/boat/walking path/restaurants. I would love to try something new but two weeks is a long time to stay at a resort if we end up not liking it. T
