We own at VGF and are considering adding another resort resale contract to enable a 1br stay annually. (Addonitis--the DVC disease! 🤒)

Need info on how tough it has been in your experience to get a week in a VGF 1br at 7 mos. at these times:
--November 3rd week only
--December Wks. 1-2
--April--nowhere near Easter Sunday
--May Wks. 1-2 (yeah, we know this will likely become impossible in 2023. Durn!)

We're aware the resale market will likely get weird with the announcement of VGF2 sales and $pp so are only looking for this availability info.

ETA: Please advise from personal experience only. We haunt message boards and are familiar with which times are said to be harder than others at 7 mos.

November and December, expect limited availability and stiff competition at 7 months. Better availability in April and May but I wouldn't wait too long. Once VGF2 has sold more points into the condo association, I'm expecting an increase in competition for 1BR and 2BR villas.

The problem with December weeks 1-2 is the number of people frozen out of studios those weeks. So they shorten the stay and go for 1BRs. They actually have had an 11-month availability problem.

It's hard to judge what the new system points will do to that, because with the new units all being studios, it might help. Or it might increase the demand that two weeks and still have studio demand outstrip supply.

I have attempted to book many of those times and have been luck with 2 or 3 nights, but I think 7 on a regular basis will be tough.

With all the new points being added, I think getting at VGF at 7 months in those 1 or 2 bedrooms will get harder.

Would it make any difference, do you think, booking as much as our current piddly VGF points will get us in a 1br at 11 mo. and then modifying for another night here, another there at 7 mo with other-resort points? Or waitlisting some VGF nights with an 11 mo. fallback at our 2nd home resort?

Naw, probably not, as many current owners as are shiny-eyed by the rumor/speculation that VGF2 points will open at $200ish. "Oh, honey! That's wonderful. We must buy VGF points at THAT price."

<sigh> We're probably going to be staying in cheaper times pointswise in future, booking as many VGF 1br nights as we can and then splitting to our other home resort, probably SSR.

Let this be a lesson to any eager-eyed prospective owners: You'll get addonitis immediately upon realizing how little your initial points get you--unless you can afford to buy in for somewhat more than the most points-heavy stay you think you'll do.
