We are going to try to rent points to book a studio at VGC for next summer... Is it possible (if we're lucky enough to get the reservation!) to request a specific studio? If so, any good ones to request? We'd love to have a view of World of Color! Any other good advice? We're so excited about the idea of finally staying at VGC!

Edited to add:
OP here - So we got our reservation (YAY!!!), and I requested a high level Paradise Pier view studio... After reading the additional feedback, I'm wishing we had requested specific room numbers... We'll be dropping off our bags and checking in pretty early (8am-ish) - can we try asking for a specific room at that time? Since we rented points, member services won't talk to me, and I hate to bother the member to amend our request. Advice?

You can request. Ask for paradise pier view, high level room.

The issue is that almost everyone else will ask for the same thing, and there are very few DVC rooms overall. And, someone has to be checking out of a studio matching that description on the same day you check in, for it to even be possible. That's why I would say that asking for a specific room number isn't realistic. At least the above request has a chance.

So don't be surprised or disappointed if you don't get it. But it never hurts to ask.

There is a DVC viewing area on the sixth floor that gives a nice (side) view of the show- only a couple actual rooms have any better angle. So no matter where you actually sleep, all the VGC rooms do get access to a show view.

The only studios with a WOC view: 6504, 5504, 4504, 3504
Checking in early in the morning can improve your chances.

When we visited DL last Nov, we asked the DVC member we rented points from to request the rooms above, and we lucked out and got 4504. It was awesome - every night with the WOC!:cool1:

Our first stay I requested a Paradise Pier view, 3rd level or above and got 2nd floor pool view. Last stay we got a one bedroom and I requested specific room numbers and we got our first choice. We have a couple more trips planned so I will see if it continues to work, but so far in my experience it seems to work better to make more specific room requests at VGC.

I agree, room numbers are the way to go. Last time I gave them a list of 5 one bedrooms and we got the third choice - 4502 I think. The time before I said "world of color view" and we were facing the woods, if you leaned over the balcony you could see the top of California Screamin.

Thanks for the great advice in this thread - I was about to ask the very same question as you, OP!
