What are the chances of getting VGC at 7 months (willing to waitlist)?

I am thinking of going to Disneyland next Presidents Day weekend and see the following options:

- Wait until 7 mos and try to book/waitlist. Good with a Studio or 1BR.
- Try again at Spring Break, though that’s less ideal and would have to be a Studio due to points chart.
- I could also try for June, but by then, I’d be booking in November. If I don’t get something, I’d have to rent my Dec2024 UY points, and wouldn’t have the 11 month advantage left (which would also cost me $2/point).

- Rent out my points and rent the points I need, at a net loss of $5 per point.

- Just stay offsite if I don’t get the room I want in February and rent my points.

The last option seems the smartest, and I could always try for VGC in a future trip… but, I’m not really loving it.

Relatedly, how easy is it to rent AKV points?

We've found VGC at 7 months to be hit-or-miss, but difficult. I expect a holiday weekend will make it much tougher. I also think a studio will be nearly impossible. A 1BR almost as tough. If you're willing to go to a larger 2BR, maybe (more points sometimes means more availability). But I think it's a long shot to get it - but if you have some flexibility and can waitlist, give it a try - worst case you might be able to rent the points. Good luck - hope it works out!

Based on my stalking/booking over the last few months, even as an owner Studios can be rough and are almost always gone at 7 months (even higher point seasons). GV are very hard too even at 10 to 11 months. 2BR go next and 1 BR can sometimes stick around a bit after the 7 month mark in the higher point seasons. Lower point seasons it all goes as soon as the 8am EST window opens. It's fun to watch. Waiting to see what VDH does to the pressure at VGC later this year and into 2024.
