Hi everyone

Normally studios book fast at VGC, but why is it that there are so much availability in august 2021 552181

Since it and/or Disneyland has been closed with no end in sight I think some owners are just tired of booking and getting canceled and are waiting until Disneyland's reopening is more of a likely/sure thing. Some are probably heading to Aulani or WDW instead I bet. When Disneyland is open, the studio availably will soon go back to normal for 7 months.

Yep. No one wants to hang their points out on a resort that may still be closed, attached to a park that will still be closed.

I wouldn't count on this pattern being relevant for 2022.

assuming people don't want to go, why are June and July sort of 90% or more booked?

I have a reservation for July at VGC for the 66th anniversary. I booked it at my 11 month mark last August. I never thought that Disneyland and VGC would still be closed at this point. I am hoping at least VGC will be open as I would take a mini staycation there just to use my points. I think there is a lot open as people are just constantly changing their reservations based on the current VGC situation. I personally got tired of rescheduling VGC reservations to use up some banked points from my other contracts.

Clearly this is covid related as it is usually impossible to book VGC

June-Aug is summer vacations and Sept-Dec is school year, thus if you have points that are going to expire, you might as well use them

With Disneyland closed, it will limit the people going, but it is still a great resort, nice pools, etc.

We have a VGC stay booked for June 2021 that was rescheduled for a canceled June 2020 trip. I am not buying airline tickets for that trip until I know we are going and DL is going to open. I unfortunately don’t think it will be 😢

That's another thought - some have an extra year of points now and probably are splurging for larger than studios with their points (or plan to once it opens).

Well, the governor announced the end of the stay at home order, so now everything is regional. Maybe VGC will open for people to burn their points?
I was wondering about this, too. I hope they open soon. I have two contracts worth of points to burn!

This describes us, we own at VGC, but are going to WDW next month.

My guess is a month before the Disney owned dining reopens and another month after that before VGC opens, but I could be wrong.
