Veterans of SSR any last minute tips?

Relatives (1st trip home) will be checking in to a 2BDR at SSR next week through the 4th of July. They are excited but nervous at the same time. Are they accepting/honoring any type of view requests?
If given a choice what area/building would be the closest walking distance to DTD? Forgive me, have been out of the loop for a while. Thanks.

All we requested was non-smoking.

The only area where buildings will be open during their stay is the Congress Park area. I think only 2 buildings are open now - so they may want to request Downtown Disney view if that is possible.

There are two paths to walk to DTD, from LBV golf course which will take you to the west side of DTD. The other path was not open when we were there, but I think people have said it has since opened. Since only 2 buildings will be open - you really dont have much of a difference in the walking distance to really worry about it.

We were there last week and the walkway to DTD marketplace was still closed.

I requested a DTD view. We had a two bedroom, room #2411. It had a nice view of the court yard with the quiet pool and DTD in the back ground. The bus stop was right out the door also.
