My mom and I are planning what days of school I can miss to go to Universal (we made a deal..I have no "sick days" (in order words, "tired days") and she'll use my allowed # of absenses to take me to Universal.). However, we are wanting to take advantage of the days I have off of school as well.

ESPECIALLY Veteran's Day, since it's my birthday. Has anyone been on Veteran's Day? I wouldn't think it would be crowded since not many school's get that day off (my school started last year...wonderful birthday present! :p ). But it's November and I honestly don't remember what it was like last November. I hope to go for 4 days around my birthday (make it a 4-day weekend). :)

How about Martin Luther King and Presidents Day next Spring? How busy is it then?? Should I bother going then?

Any information would help!! Thanks!!

Hey Flyfly - I would love an answer to this to - we just booked for Vetrans day weekend - Nov. 7 to Nov 10. Do the parks close early? We there the first week of August this year, so it can't be as crowded as that.

Hi Flyfly,
Anytime there is a national holiday, the theme parks will see some increase in attendance, more so WDW probably, but when the crowds increase there, they usually pick up at Universal/IOA to some degree, though not as much. Locally, some of the schools might not be off on those days, but anytime people from elsewhere can put together a long weekend, and not lose an extra day off (the holiday), then you will see alot of them do! ( I know, I used to BE one of those northeasterners that did that!).

That said, I don't think you'll see much trouble with MLK day and Veteran's day, but Presidents day brings larger crowds for the whole week because much of the Northeast is on vacation that week and it does affect the crowds. WDW gets downright crazy that week sometimes! I can't say how bad it will be at Universal, but probably not THAT bad (not summer bad, ya know?)

Have fun figuring out your schedule!
Oh, and we saw the Ghostbuster show yesterday...we thought it was entertaining enough, but the guys were definitely awesome. Um, dancers...yeah, dancers...
I think they should start the show off a little more upbeat or catchy because we noticed throngs of people (maybe 25% of the crowd) walked away before the music started, and they missed the best part.
I have to ask, why don't you have a photo of the guys of their best side? :jester:

Oh, MIB is gonna kill me! ;)

If you are saying what I think you're saying (best side...) then...But I do!! LOL. I'm creating a website as I speak (or rather, type) for Universal/IOA and LOTS of the Ghostbusters will be on it (probably will take up like 50% of my space, but who cares!!)! LOTS of pictures...teehee. Not all like THAT, but maybe one or two...
And yes, the show starts off pretty...boring and somewhat lame. I remember when I first took my cousin, when Beetlejuice came on stage and did his thing, she said to my mom "You two are so easily amused!!" :p
That all changed when the guys came out!! lol. :)
Gosh...I wanna go back to watch the show :( It's been a whole...12 days!!!! I'm going insane because I can't go back until September 5!!! It's too loooooooooong!!!!

Thanks for the information BTW. I knew one of the holidays (at least) during early next year are known to get larger crowds for Skiing, just wasn't sure if that meant a lot of themepark goers too... :)
