yes, that's the gist of it. do NOT ask to sign up.
ask if they know if Main Street Ops has chosen someone yet and if not, if you might be able to participate.
if the CM refuses to check with Main Street Ops, you can always opt to try again with a different CM. But the point would be to be delicately force the issue giving the impression you know what the scoop is.
the procedure changed late last year and hasn't changed again to the best of my knowledge.
