Veteran Discounts for Tickets?

I'm planning a trip with my brother who is a veteran. I saw the military discounts for active, retired, and disabled. Does anyone know if you have to be 100% disabled? The military considers him 70% disabled...not sure if that qualifies. If not, are there any discounts for veterans?

If he is 70% disabled he was probably medically retired and then he is qualified. I don't know how things work for vets who are disabled without being medically retired as well as everyone I know with at least 30% disability actually has a retiree id.

I know he wasn't considered "medically discharged," he does have an honorable discharge, but I'm not sure that he's considered retired. I'll see what his ID says. Thanks!

I believe he needs to have an ID that says DAVPRM if he is not 100% disabled.

I'm not sure what type of ID he currently has with his situation, but can he still go to ITT at a local base and purchase tickets there? My base has a pretty good discounts for Orlando attractions. Hope that helps!

There are both tickets that you can get on base, and the salute to the troops tickets. I think the Salute tickets are a much better deal, and you can buy lots of them. But there is something like only active and retired can get them - something weird, but look into them. I know you can get tix at Shades of Green. Also, look into staying at Shades of Green. It's a nice little hotel with huge rooms and very good rates. It's also located across from the Polynesian, so it's very close to MK and even the TTC. They are also very good with disabled vets, since there are so many - they have scooters for rental and will even golf cart you down the long walk to the Polynesian as a service. And the people are very nice.
