very ticked off at Kmart

Yesterday i went to Kmart and bought 8 bags of the Hersheys Pieces candy . Sunday in the coupons was a promotion in Smart Source flyer that said if you buy 4 bags of this candy you receive a $10 kmart gift card. at time of purchase. I did not. Went back today after being told on the phone that i could get a print out with my receipts. The very rude and ignorant woman at the customer service desk had no idea what i was talking about nor would she take my word for it that i should get a print out from the register. I even took the ad from smart source with me. I called Kmart Customer service when i wen thome again and tht woman had no idea either!

So needless to say i am very Ticked off as the promo ends the 6th. Found out also it is a Catalina printout.
Anyone have any suggestions?
 
Can you return the candy you bought, then re-buy 4 bags and complain AT THE REGISTER, WITH THE AD IN HAND if you do not get the gift card?
 
Call them and get the number for the Catalina Company. They will ask you information from your reciept and then send you you the catalina. Or return it and have them ring it up at a register that has the catalina with the green light on. Or go back and speak to the Manager and show them. Not the people at the Customer Service counter.

I thought about doing this deal as well, but I have zero luck at Kmart. Nada. Everytime I go I have a problem with something that doesn't ring up right or doesn't ring at all. I just gave up.

Years ago I looked up the main corporate office for Kmart and called and asked to speak with the CEO. It worked! I bought a pair of pants for my child that fit too small so went back with the receipt 2 weeks later to exchange. I first went back there and they had the size I wanted, same price. I go up to the customer service with both pairs (old and new) and receipt. The lady tells me that they were on sale the previous week for $2 less so now they have to ring the return on the sale price but ring up the bigger size on the higher price so I'd have to pay an extra $2. I had the receipt where I had bought them at the higher price (that they were now) plus pay $2 more! I asked for a supervisor but of course, there wasn't one anywhere in the store. (I worked retail as a manager, so I'm not that dumb). I ended up speaking with the Vice President of Kmart.

So I walk in and ask for the manager the VP told me to and gosh, the attitude was sooo different except at the end when he said...we will not take any further refunds from you. Stupid man. I wrote the VP, told him what the manager said and thank you for helping me but unfortunately, with that remark, I'd never shop there again. I got a $100 gift certificate for Christmas from Kmart (20 years ago, was a lot of $$):cool1:

All of this because I wanted a size bigger in pants for the same price (higher price) that I paid.
 

I feel your pain! That's why I no longer even look at their sale papers anymore. They NEVER had stock of sale items and when I tried to get a rain check of a wet/dry vac the customer service lady insisted it was a seasonal item and would not give me a raincheck.

No more K-mart for me.

Wow that is a great story. You sometimes wonder what these managers are thinking.

As an aside I did the Hershey's deal and had no problems.

On the bottom of the Kmart flyer it says that it is a mail in certificate. HTH
 
you guys/ girls are more helpful then the customer service grump at Kmart, and the half hearted Kmart rep. on the phone. :hug: I did send an email to Catalina after scrounging around some other bargain hunter forums where i saw someone had writtten to them regarding a Kraft promo. I also called the Hershey company costumer service and sent them an email. The man there was very courteous and helpful, but i think he was just a preliminary guy. He just took my information and said he'd send it to the appropriate people and should get my form in 6-7 days. However, since then i received an email from Hershey saying it was an " in store" deal and i would have to talk to a Kmart manager. So i guess we'll wait and see what tomorrow brings.

I am seriously thinking about doing some negative feedback on this Kmart.
