Very specific FL Resident rate question.....

If I have a Cat 9 or 6 reservation already and discounts are announced for those Cats, do they have to give it to me? ie Is it different that APholder discounts? For those, they only have a certain number of them available so if you call on the 3rd day after they are released and try to get them applied to your current WL standard room you'll likely be told the DISCOUNT is not available.

Are cruises different and I'll get the discount as long as I meet the FL resident requirements?

I THINK....it works the same way. That they don't HAVE to give it to you. I was under the impression that they discount a certain percentage of cabins and when that percentage is met, that's it.

If FL rates are released, be sure to call ASAP. I am sure someone else will post if my info is incorrect.

I would call if the Florida rate gets released and book it, then cancel your old ressie.

You would have to cancel your existing reservation and rebook a new cruise - not guaranting that your original stateroom will be available. At least that is how it was explained to me when I asked the exact same question!

We booked with Allseasons and they gave us the discount when it was announced.

Im booked with allseas and if and when the fla rates are announced- I will be credited. I didnt last time and had to cancel my ressie with another TA and rebook with allseas-this time Im not going to chance it.

Weren't the FL resident rates this year released early July for Sept? Isn't that within the 75 day restriction so there would be a charge for cancelling? I definately would be looking to have discount applied to existing room. If it weren't that I were going for a quad and last year they said quads weren't available in the Cat I wanted, I'd just wait until FL resident discounts released to book.

mamalle - Why couldn't your original TA apply discount? Maybe DCL really doesn't allow discounts on existing reservations so its some work for the TA to cancel you and then rebook you but some TA's don't want to go to the trouble? Guessing????
