Sad news for Disney fans

:sad1:

I will always remember his presentation with Jim Lewis on the SS Member Cruise. He really did love Disney and what a great storyteller!

I was fortunate enough to meet Roy on the Disney Member Cruise and at a few Disney fan conventions. He was a wonderful man with great talents. He loved life and the world around him.

He will be missed. He was a good influence on and a constant reminder to Corporate Disney.:sad1:

My heart goes out to the Disney family.

I was just reflecting this morning on all the losses the family suffered in December over the years (Walt passing in 1966; Roy O. in 1971, Edna in 1984 and Lillian in 1997) and wondering how Roy E. was doing! -- Suzanne

Yes, very sad indeed. :sad1:

Agreed.. He is the last Disney that had a hand in the operation. I know he sort of got the boot, but I always felt as though the company had to adhere to a certain standard because he of his presence.

He will be missed in many ways..

Hopefully there's someone in the Disney family in a position within the company

to be a guardian of the magic?....or is this truly the end of an era :sad1: ?

A very sad end to an era. He fought hard to hold Disney to the standards his uncle instilled.

We were fortunate enough to meet Roy Disney at Animal Kingdom a couple of years ago. It seems like the whole link to Walt is gone with his passing.

He was such a positive force for the company. He'll be missed and I hope someone can keep the Walt legacy in force.

I share that sentiment! It seems like there is no family member involvedl anymore.
