My cat hates it when I sneeze! :rotfl:
Every single time I sneeze, my cat runs over to me and stares, like he's waiting for an alien to pop out of my head! Sometimes he bats a paw at me or gently bites my arm!
:rotfl2:
Does anyone else experience this, or have cats that do weird things like mine!?

:cat: My kitten, Chezz, gets freaked out when my cellphone rings. He jumps right to it. Then runs to find me. Like, "Hey, lady, that thing is making noise again!" Appartently he feels he is the secertary of the house.

:lmao:

My cat comes upstairs and rubs my leg every time I'm blow drying my hair. I finally (dumb me) figured out that he associates my hair brush with me petting him because the brush is in my hand as I pet him. So now I taught him to jump up on the bed so he can get brushed after I'm done my hair.

It took me a year to figure that out...dumb cat mom. Never had a cat before! paw: paw: paw: :cat:

I got two kitten siblings from the pound a couple years back. Well the male cat decided that the litter box wasn't good enough, and tried to go on the toilet. Everyone thought it was really neat, and I did at first, but let's just say, his aim wasn't the best (probably because he was so small) so I'd always clean some sort of mess. I had no earthly idea on how to "toilet train" him, so I just kept putting him in the litter box with his sister. Finally he got the idea.

The same cat used to suckle his paws, even at 2 and 3 years old. You couldn't keep him in the bedroom at night, because he would start to suckle your arm or ear. I woke up with a cat hickey more than once.

Yep...I get wierd animals. :)

When mine decides he wants to wake me up, he jumps up on the bed, gets right next to my face, and then will stick one paw out and touch my cheek. He'll wait about 10 seconds for a response, and if he doesn't get one, he does it again. Unfortunately for him, the response he usually gets is some not-so-ladylike words from me.

We rescued a skinny, fluffy orange tabby abandoned by some people who moved away. Well, Cheeto is now a fat, fluffy orange tabby who is fully a member of the family and plays with our other cat, Pepper.

Today I had Cheeto over my shoulder and was patting his back and he let go a huge buuurrrrp right in my ear! Stinky cat belch, yeeuck! :lmao:

I call this pulling a "Helen". Chezz does it all the time.

Isis also lets me know when the phone rings. He's a Maine Coon and has the loudest voice. I guess he thinks I don't hear the phone because he comes running to me meowing or chirping as loud as he can.

My cat, Ash, taught himself how to use the toilet too..but he only uses it to piddle.. he still uses the box for #2.. I hope one day I'll be able to completley NOT have a litterbox..and this was with NO training from me.. he just did it on his own.

If I don't move Rumpleteazer from whatever spot she's licking, I'll end up with no skin. Which has happened at least once. Eek. I have no idea why she has this compulsion to lick me until the skin is completely off. Ouch.

TOV

Not my cat, but a cat my mother in law used to have.. one Christmas we were singing Christmas carols and the cat jumped up on her lap and put her paw over her mouth to shut it... I guess she didn't like her singing... LOL!

Our big Maine Coon, Bubba, does the sneeze thing, too! I'll sneeze, and he'll come running from the other side of the house "barking" at me, like "Stop it!" We started calling him "Sneeze Police".

He's a truly weird cat - It would take me an hour to list all of his strange behavior.

Our young cat, Minerva, jumps on DSs shoulder anytime he's laughing or even just speaking in an animated way. She usually bites on the the shoulder of his shirt.

He's been teaching her to do it when he jumps up and down in front of her. He then gives her a "kitty-back" ride.

She does it to me sometimes as well, now. Even though she has all her claws, she's very gentle about it.

She also loves cellphones. Anytime one rings, she's right there. If you're using one, she's all rubbing and loving on you.

I had a cat who was similar. He loved to sleep on my chest at night, but if I ever sneezed, it really upset him. He would leap up and stare at me like I had done something really crazy. I would have to brace his body with my hands and do one of those muffled sneezes... sometimes he was okay with that.

I never had a cat, but I enjoyed these stories about yours. Thanks for the laugh! Our pets can be so entertaining......gotta love em!! :thumbsup2

Out of all our three cats, Bambi, the middle one has the strangest behaviors. She has a fit and screams in your face if you laugh. For no reason she will start running around the house as if her tail was on fire.

The ewwwwwww one is if she gets to it before me she will eat spider webs.
Plus she loves to lick plastic, which I heard wasn't technically unusual.

Not my kitty but my dog does that. If I sneeze, he goes NUTS.... he barks and comes flying at me and jumps on me... he actually starts * you know ;) * To my leg. This is the ONLY time he does that since he was fixed. It's only me.

DH can sneeze and he might get a look or an occasional bark from across the room but that's it.

As long as I tell Lobo I am ok, he will stop but try sneezing and talking at the same time!!

Just thought of another...when my cat (who is LARGE, like about 17 pounds and the same height or taller than many small dogs, wears a dog collar because cat collars are too small, etc.) is scared or thinks he might be on trouble, he hides. The only problem is that he subscribes to the idea that if he can't see you, you can't see him. If I'm holding him, he'll curl up as small as possible (like a roly-poly) and tuck his head under my arm; if he's at home, he runs and sticks his head under the bed.

I am laughing so hard reading all these posts!! :rotfl:
Sooo glad to hear I'm not the only one with a sneeze-phobic animal!
My cat also does the thing where he runs around like his tail is on fire. Its so weird. We'll be sitting watching tv and all the sudden he's racing from room to room, ears back, running into everything in sight!
We call it "Jungle kitty time." hahaha.
