Friday, Sept 24
(afternoon)

We got back from the Mk around 2pm and hit the pool. Okay, so it wasn't Stormalong Bay.... the slide was small, but nobody was complaining. All of the kids (including DS) were having a ball!!!

I got a drink (a Mardi Grog) which was way too powerful-should have stuck with a Pina Colada and sat down to ponder the fact that I'm here-not at home studying. O course, I did go down the slide several times.

My mom, Luc, and I went over to the hot tub and relaxed our muscles. I did not mention it yet, but we had beautiful weaher all day. It was not hot at all, but nice and sunny!

It was time to go back to room and rest....I stopped in the gift shop to buy a t-shirt.

Back at the rooms, we decided we wanted to try Biergarten for dinner. I just picked up the phone and pressed my dining button-I just love staying on property! I had to wait a long time due to the hurricane, so I hung up and phoned the front desk. Guest services was able to get my PS in no time flat.

We rested for a while (watched Oprah) and got dressed for dinner. We decided to drive our van to Epcot, so we didn't have to deal with the crowds at the buses at closing. It took less than five minutes to get there. We parked in row C41 and walked into Epcot at around 6pm. We got another stroller and my mom rented a wheelchair-that's better. Her feet have been bothering her lately. I even ended up in it for a little while...

After riding Spaceship Earth-a walk on , as the park was pretty empty, it started to POUR!!!!!!!!!!! We were on our way to Ice Station cool, so we just ducked into innoventions and stayed there for about ten minutes. When it slowed a little, DH and Luc took Ds to Ice Station Cool. DS tried all the drinks. He still talks about the Beverly! We all headed to the World Showcase by way of Mexcio. I had my poncho on, but it did not rain again for the rest of the evening. We rode Maelstrom-a walk or should I say run-on and we did not have to wait afterwards for the movie-we got right off and headed to Germany for our PS. We just loved this restaurant. The food was delicious and the show was great, too! DS had to visit the kidcot stations of course,so we made our way around the rest of the WS until it was time for Illuminations. After the show, we made our way out slowly. Ds was asleep in the stroller. We pushed it as far as we could and then DH had to carry him to the car. Of course, he was awake then!

Back at POFQ, we decided we needed to leave bright and early to beat the hurricane home. So, we went to bed-no Donald's Breakfastsuaurs this trip! I was up around 5 and packed up in the dark. I went down to the front desk . A man in front of me had been moved from CBR, since they were having to extend the stays of guests that were supposed to leave Sunday. He was a little unsure. I reassured him that he and his family would be safe at Disney and that I had heard nothing but good resports from others who had stayed through the previous hurricanes. I only advised him to have ample snacks in his room. When he left, the CM thanked me. I swear, sometimes I feel like I really work there!

I went back up to the room to wake everyone up. When we went down to breakfast, all anyone talked about was the hurricane. The CM's were very good at giving the guests information. They are pros at this by now.

We stopped to get gas on our way out-no regular gas left... and were on the turnpike by 8:30 am. We had great weather and traffic all the way home-all the tolls were lifted, too.

I am glad that we left early because the weather deteriorated as the day went on. The hurricane hit that night, but we didn't feel that much, since it came in further north. Frances was worse.

A great trip. I will never plan a trip in Sept again!

I love French Quarter ..we went there for our first trip 18 trips ago. I think that their location and not being so big is excellent......we always go to biergarten too when we are in Disney and I love their apple streudal and vanilla sauce. I could eat that first and then the dinner.....thanks again for your report

Great report ~ Thanx for sharing.
