I am going with a very picky adult - was trying to decide whether it was worth getting regular Disney dining or not - will be going to character meals along with other non Epcot country restaurants - was wondering if they would allow the adult to eat off the kids meal or if they could maybe up the entree portion to an adult portion- basically the only thing this adult will eat is plain chicken either grilled or in tender form

There are a lot of factors that go into whether or not it's "worth it". If you're doing a lot of character meals, drink alcohol, or typically order the most expensive things on the menu, then you might be able to come out ahead financially. A very picky eater will probably be better off paying OOP. In my experience most restaurants are very accommodating with special requests .

It always, always, always depends on the CM's working that shift, that restaurant, at that time. Some of them have the clearance to just nod, smile and poke the right codes into the system. Others need managers. Others, the manager has asked the staff to minimize this occurrence. Be nice, ask, but have a backup plan in case the answer is, "no".

If there are NOT others in your party who can help offset credits (offsite family members, kids, hungry-as-a-horse teens) and you DO NOT WANT to bring ALL the snacks home, and you DO.NOT.WANT. to give Pixie Dusted "free food opportunities" randomly to other guests, then yeaaaaaaaaah I would bypass DDP this time around and just budget for OOP. You can even use Disney giftcards to do this if you want! :D
