Does anyone know if they have swim pull-ups for newborns size? (they are 2 1/2 months by due date age) I am hoping they do.

TIA, It has been a while since I needed to buy pull-ups. My friend with triplets wants to go to the pool with us but they require swim diapers for the kids to get in. I am trying to get all the supplies ready for our day since shopping and any going out for her is really hard right now.

Not sure if this will help...When dd8 was about that age, we went to my sisters pool and I had found her a little swim suit with a built in swim diaper . My late BIL thoughtfully cranked the heater up in the pool to about 87 degrees...Nice for the baby but I think the rest of us were hotter in the pool than out! :rotfl:

I found swimsuits with a built in swim diaper in small sizes at Target last year. I think I remember seeing the same kind again this year. My DS was 4 months old when he wore his last year and the small size was kind of small on him. They were on and end cap and had matching hats and sunglasses(infant sunglasses) you could get to go with them.

I have a package of size small Huggies Swimmers. They say for 16-26 lbs. I remember last year my friend was looking for smaller ones and didn't find any. I personally wouldn't want to take a baby that little into the pool.

16# is the smallest, but they're pretty forgiving. My 14# 7 mos old can wear a small as can my almost 25# 2.5yo. We also have the swimsuit from Target w/ the built in diaper for Ilana, but I still like to have her wear a swim diaper.

scrapnmom - Don't know why you would deny a child a chance to play in the water if it's warm enough and they like water... That said, I sure wouldn't take them in a cool pool. Their bodies can't adjust to that cooler temp very well.

We took DS to the springs (nice warm spring water) when he was less than 2 months old and he had a wonderful time in the "giant bathtub".

I have never seen disposable swim pants for ones that little though - but the reusable ones do come pretty small.

I think the disposible swin diapers are pretty crappy..you can get nice reusable ones (like the PP mentioned) at Target..very inexpensive, like $5.99.
Or Onestepahead.com has reuseable adjustable swim diapers.

Unfortunately, I doubt the target re-usable ones would fit...ds was a preemie, and the small is still big on him at 7 months....but he is pretty tiny still! Maybe you can go swimming elsewhere?

Thanks for all the ideas!

They are between 10 and 12 pounds at their last check-up. I will scope out Target for teh swimsuits tomm. What a shame I have an excuse to go there (and Disney store) tomm.:rotfl:

The Children's Place also has swimsuits w/ the built in diapers. The boys one (0-3 month size) worked well for my DS when he was around 10 lbs. Also, I think they're still on clearance at the one by me - around $6 for the suit w/ built in diaper. I just bought the 3-6 month size, but have not tried it yet (he's now about 12.5 lbs, so just on the verge of needed the next size).

I went to a poool reciently that asked for parents not to use the disposable swimmers because they do not hold anything in. Rather requested parents use the reusable kind

you should be able to find those at target

We took our youngest in the pool at WDW when she was about 3 months old and around 11 pounds. I also wondered about the Swimmers being too big for her. We had a bunch left over from our oldest in a size small so we just used those. They actually fit her fine...not too big at all! HTH

She probably wants something NOW but I thought I'd mention that onestepahead.com has adjustable fit reusable swim diapers that would probably work well on smaller babies. The sides have velcro. I use the reusable ones from Target w/my ds (wee waves I think) and they work really well. But I didn't buy those until he was a toddler. He's also really slender so at four and 34lbs they still fit (which is good since we're still struggling w/the pt issues!).

My DS was a little over 2 months the first time he was in a pool and the smallest swim diapers were fine. They are very forgiving, as thepeach80 said.

DD is almost three months old and probably 11.5 lbs now. She wore a swim diaper last week in size small. It was fine.

Dispoasable swim diapers are not made to absorb urine that's why they feel cheap and thin. I'll take a pooped in disposable over a pooped in washable anyday!! Who wants to tote a poopy diaper home :confused3

My son never pooped in his reusable swim diaper. He also never poops in the tub though. He has a habit of avoiding pooping when we're out and about.

People use reusable regular diapers and usually deal with poopy ones by just sticking them in a ziploc until they get home.

Keep in mind, too, that their definition of cool is alot warmer than your definition. My 7 month old, 15# dd goes to swimming lessons in a 90 degree indoor pool, and we get out after about 20 minutes because she's getting cold. (She is a very skinny 15 lbs, though.)
