*Very OT: I need parenting advice

I know this is not the place to post a parental problem... but I need advice. Can anyone recommend a good forum or discussion board for a parent in need? Sorry if I've irritated folks by asking this here...

Go to the community boards on this forum and post your parenting Q. Go above to The DIS Discussion Forums and scrool down till you see the community board.

Yup, if you want brutally honest answers try the Community Board. But, do not get offended with anything. You will get many answers plus comments.

Thats why I wont post on the CB anymore.... you cant ask for help there. You are just asking to have your head handed to you with the brutally... and just forget the honest part.

I was going to send you a pm with some other boards to check, but I cant seem to send you a pm. You might try the lounge at mouseplanet. Or you might try www.therevolvingdoor.net They are an outspoken group of moms, and their style does not appeal to everyone. I've been posting with them for years. Its a board where almost anything goes. Only real rule is you dont insult other peoples children and you own what you post.

I did post on the community board once regarding a problem I was having with my son who was being very bullied at school. I got some very nice and helpful replies. However, I do see what people are saying about the Community Board, I hardly ever venture over there much, its just not worth it! But in this instance, I have to say everyone was nice, sympathetic and very helpful. There is also a Caring and Concern Board now (I think thats the name of it), you might try that. I hope it all works out for you, being a parent is certainly very hard at time! Good luck to you and your child!

You could try http://ivillage.com - they have a lot of parenting related boards. Or you could try http://mothering.com/discussions - they are two very different places, it just depends on what your parenting style is.

Our Mods are the best on the DIS (and that's saying a lot!!!) They sometimes let things go on a bit longer here, because we are the kinder and gentler forum...

If you're comfortable, put your problem out there on here, and if any of us can relate/respond/over direct suggestions, I'm sure we will. Personally, I wouldn't venture onto the CB with something that is raw and tender on your heart, but that's just MHO.

I just wanted to say I am sorry you are having a problem, Teacups. I have no website to offer you. But I do offer hugs and pixie dust that whatever it is, you will find a solution soon. It is true that we here on the DL Boards are all like a big family and support each other.

Try the parenting boards on www.fertilethoughts.com
It started as a website for those with infertility problems, but they have a lot of folks on there that just find their way to the parenting boards. Just don't make any comments of how you may be really super fertile. Most people there have some form of infertility, and could be offended. They are a great bunch, and most a pretty tame!
