Very New Newbie- Please advise!!

Can't sit up front anymore on the monorails.

I don't have a problem with disney transport, but if your looking for quickest, then yes, use your car.

I'd suggest driving in the morning, then using disney transport back for the afternoon break. Then when you go back to the park, you can drive out of there. Just get a good map of disney, with all the roads. Because the fort is between world drive and bonnet creek rd, sometimes getting to certain areas it's best to go one way or the other. Epcot and dtd i'd take bonnet creek, but I'd use world drive coming out of epcot. I'd go with bonnet creek for getting to and from studios, and world drive for animal kingdom.

Did I actually read that Frank said to hold off on the fishing???:scared: Do we have a pod person in our midst??? hahaha

Yeah, I know, it just aint right to say something like that,,but I hadta kinda put myself in their shoes,,they did say it was their first time ever to WDW,,I just figured it would be too overwhelming to try and fish too. BUT I did however mention they should fish on another trip :thumbsup2

But I can Promise you,,that won't happen again ! :lmao:

How does this schedule look for us. We are going to stay saturday till the following sunday. So that's 8 nights. I am going to buy a 6 day ticket. We were going to do water parks too, but I would like to drive to the beach one or two of those days. We will go to all 4 parks and then pick our top two and go back to them to hit our favorite parts, or to catch anything we missed the first time around. Of course I would love to buy the 10 day pass with no expiration, but I have bills to pay, lol!
Anyway, I'm going to keep our camp meals simple, nothing fancy, we are going to pack snacks and lunch stuff in our packs on a few of the park days and are going to eat at a few locations in the parks. I am definitely going to do a character dinner for my dd (who is a princess:) probably at Akershus. They still have available spots for the end of April. I am going to plan as much as I can and read as much as I can!

So here's a few questions:

What rides would you avoid with a 6year ds and a 7 year dd. My son is sensitive to dark scary stuff. I think he can handle the dinosaurs but not haunted mansion or space mountain.

What's a realistic time to stay in the parks before we get to a meltdown exhausted point with the kids. 4-5 hours? We can go to our camp, rest and come back.

Should I pack two pairs of tennis shoes?

Are the restaurants at the campground good? What would be your top recommendation for one sit down dinner/show besides the character one we are planning to go to.

I am having so much fun planning and getting ideas! Thanks for the great input so far!

I know of 16 year old girls that were freaked out by Dinosaur. That being said it's one of our favorite rides.

You'll know. Hahaha

It's nice to have a 2nd pair in case of rain.

You'll have a great time and things always work out.

I refuse to go on Dinosaur and I'm 25. I will go on Haunted Mansion over and over again. Although when I was real little, like 5, the ghost that follows you home always scared me cause he always sat on my lap.
Space is a toss up, with the new refurb, it is darker than before. But it's still not "pitch black" that you can't see your hand in front of your face.

Go for two pairs of shoes and a pair of sandals. It's no fun having to spend a second day in wet shoes. But if you know it's going to rain, slip your sandals in your bag and switch when it starts to rain.
Make sure your shoes are well broken into before your trip. Don't need any surprise blisters from new shoes.

The Hood-de-doo is there at the fort, it's 50$ per adult. And there's a lot of good reviews about it. Next to it is trail's end buffet, it is the cheapest buffet on property, at about 23$ for dinner. If you just want a quick bite, then head over to Roaring Forks at the Lodge.
